It's funny to me that Renee teased Kate about bantering on duty in the Rebirth Batwoman series, and here she is now, doing pretty much nothing but that in this preview. I'm glad that she's at least keeping up the charade that she's single; that's smart.

Man, what does it say about DC that Marvel has more faith in Mary Jane Watson than DC does about Lois Lane (whom I think is way more interesting, but then again, I'm njoy a Marvel guy).

Hopefully, Lois' solo maxi-series does well enough to warrant her own ongoing at some point.
I don’t have anything against Mary Jane but I think what Lois has that she doesn’t is consistency. 9/10 times, whatever universe, continuity or medium, Lois Lane is almost always Superman’s sassy workaholic reporter love interest. That’s a good premise that gives writers plenty to work with.
But Mary Jane from Spider-Man comics? Uh well... 616 Mary Jane didn’t have all that much in common with Ultimate MJ. Rami MJ was a weird amalgamation or the two that didn’t really work. PS4 Mary Jane is just a Lois Lane lite. And Michelle Jones from the MCU is also completely different from previous iterations.
Stuff like that dilutes the character.

Might as well bump up this long-neglected appreciation thread considering my latest fanfic revolves around Lois in a big way -

    Title

    Lois Lane Power Woman

    Summary

We all know the multiverse is vast: infinite choices, infinite possibilities, and infinite outcomes. In one universe what if Matrix/Supergirl sacrificed herself not to save a dying Linda Danvers but instead a dying Lois Lane? What would change for our heroes, villains, and citizens? How would this affect both Lois and Clark? Behold the tale of Lois Lane Power Woman of DC Earth-899!

    Characters

[Lois Lane, Clark K./Kal-El/Superman, Karen Starr/Kara Zor-L/Power Girl] Lex Luthor

    Rated - M for Mature

    If so inclined, enjoy

PS I hope others make some posts here. Our favorite reporter deserves love.

My favorite rendition of Lois Lane came from Ed McGuinness:

Lois’ hair color is auburn? I thought it was black. Then brown post-crisis. Then black again starting in 1999.

Oh, it was very auburn (even outright red, I'd say) in some of the early post-COIE stuff. I prefer the black, myself.

Also seems like sometime in the 1970s or 1980s many redheads (Wally West, Vicki Vale, but not Barbara Gordon) went kinda strawberry blond(e) instead.

Lois and Diana is a team-up I'm always up for more of. I missed that particular Giant because my store ran out and I'm excited to get a chance to read it. I'll probably hunt it down in print if I end up enjoying it.

Really big fan of Ed's atwork also! That whole era in the early 2000's was really nice to read when I was binging through superman comics.

Is that 5'6" height for Lois still official?

Because if there's one physical characteristic that categorically does NOT describe Lois, it's "tall".

Lois, IMO, should always be whatever the current average is for the American adult woman. Is that 5'6"? Seems a wee bit tall ...
