Oh yeah. I wouldn't mind Wanda being more "feminine" and easing into her role as a domestic goddess. I think that would be so much more fun. I'm starting to wonder if MCU fans are getting tired of childish manchildren heroes and aloof badass heroines. It's sort of getting old hat to me, but apparently MCU audiences love it. I think Vision should be a chill-ass dude too. He could even put on a pair of aviator sunglasses sometime. Even though I love Cumberbatch's portrayal of Dr. Strange, I think he is in serious danger of being the MCU's next major man-child. Whenever him and Christine Palmer were talking, it seemed like he was yelling at her. This was totally different from his relationship with other characters. That's a sign of great immaturity and kind of disrespectful. I love Strange being a total dickhead, but when it comes to his love interests, it's highly problematic. I hated how Palmer just loyally stood by him even AFTER he said so many hurtful things to her. But most of the non-superhero women in the MCU are total doormats anyways so I wasn't surprised by her portrayal. Just disappointed. By the way, did I mention that I think Strange being a loveable asshole is great? I love it! As a dude, I TOTALLY can identify with that attitude. But you know what? I bet you the females on this thread love it too.

Many congratulations are in order. You are probably Wanda's best and number one fan. Your dedication to her character can not be matched. And I'm looking forward to your "reports" on the Scarlet Witch as you read through her stories. I definitely need your CliffsNotes descriptions of her because I feel I have a lot to learn when it comes to our favorite female Maximoff.

She wasn't a housewive just because she eventually had kids. There are moms that are feminist.
I have to concede total and absolute defeat to you. I just looked up the Lady Liberators and indeed it is true. They were created at the height of the feminist movement fifty years ago and Wanda was definitely a big part of that. The Lady Liberators even have a Wikipedia page devoted to them. I had no idea the Scarlet Witch was even interested in that kind of stuff. Good for her. She probably has a signed copy of the Feminine Mystique at home along with posters of Gloria Steinem on her wall for all we know. Moms can definitely be feminist. I just don't think in WandaVision Olsen portraying mothers like Lucy Ricardo, June Cleaver, Donna Stone, Carol Brady, Roseanne Conner, and Peggy Bundy is a sign Wanda supports feminist ideals in the SERIES! LOL! I think Wanda's gonna go full "domestic goddess" for WandaVision. As I said, sitcoms are kind of conservative by nature (at least they were in the past), that's why I thought Wanda wasn't interested in "girl power". But you're right, in the comics she clearly identifies as a feminist.

And to be quite honest with you, I want the MCU to take a radically different direction with this show. And there is something that they could do to make this happen. I would MUCH prefer it if Wanda's antagonists are actually FEMALE in this show. Morgan le Fay and Amora are women with incredible magical abilities. I would love to see Wanda go toe to toe with female characters like that. They could even trade quips with each other in a "feminine" or "bitchy" way. Taunting each other about fashion choices and hairstyles. That would be so different from what we've seen before. I thought Hela was such a unique antagonist and I was so disappointed she was killed off so quickly (Marvel does that a lot in the movies). I've heard rumors that Agatha Harkness could assume that role in the show, but I don't want her to be a bad girl, you know? I'm ready for some girl on girl action on the small screen that doesn't involve porn! An MCU first.

I'm curious, are you happy with Sam Raimi directing Dr. Strange 2 (Full disclosure, I'm very pleased with him taking on directorial duties for this film)? Because I've read some social media posts online from people who like Scott Derrickson (I'm a big fan of his too), who are really unhappy with the change. These critics say they wanted a full-on psychedelic, trippy mind-blowing horror flick based straight out of a Pink Floyd song for this film. And they think with Feige hiring Raimi, the Multiverse of Madness will be just ANOTHER quippy action/adventure movie indistinguishable from other previous MCU offerings. What are your thoughts on the change? I would have liked to see Derrickson's vision for this project, but I'm totally on board with Raimi doing his thing now. I'm just wondering what do YOU think?

It'd be nice to see Amora somewhere. Since she was sort of an antagonist of Wanda's at one point. Morgan le Fey was in the Runaways but that's not in universe, so I wonder if they'd use her again in the MCU. I don't want them to do stereotypical insults though. :P Fighting over looks and stuff like that is very bad.

We don't know what is going on in WandaVision. Or who or what Wanda is portraying. It's most likely given the synopsis that it's someone messing with Wanda and none of those are actually her playing a role but being sent through time or universes or something. They have not hinted at domestic goddess or anything. Just that it will be based on Vision and Vision and the Scarlet Witch. And we have the rumor that it might be based on Vision Quest. That will mean enough action to where domestic home life will not be the major focus. Probably getting rid of whatever or whomever is messing with them will become the priority.

MCU has been pretty bad with most of their villains. So not sure what to expect. I don't think Agatha will be bad. I think insiders are just confused about the character. Because she wasn't morally just some of the time but had Wanda's interests at heart. There was someone that did a write up from a different perspective of Agatha's history, and it came across very manipulative. But I don't think that was ever Agatha's intent.

I'd just like female characters to interact for more than just a few seconds. That'd be something different in the MCU. They already had the rivalry between Pepper and Widow, which came off very dated and terrible. Because having women fight over a guy is very cliche and terrible.

    Congratulations to your 10000’s post!

That reading list of yours, I was about to ask about something like that. Quite a while ago someone opened a new Wanda appreciation thread with a reading list. But I missed the opportunity to copy that list or even a link to any site of that thread, so that was lost to me. A reading list is just what I need, because there are still appearances of Wanda that I don’t know about. Like, just recently a discussion here gave me the cue that Wanda appeared in a Wonder Man run.

CJ, I'd be interested to see if there are any really old stories with Wanda that I missed reading. Your journey will certainly help with that! Thank you in advance.

I had always thought that the whole incest thing was IMPLIED and SUGGESTED. I didn't know Marvel went into graphic detail about it. That is insane!
Just to be clear, that happened in an alternate Universe, It was called the Ultimate’s Universe. That whole Universe was insane, that was pretty much the point of it. That Universe’s version of Wanda is long dead, and the rest of that Universe is broken beyond repair (correlation?). Basically that Universe got thrown into the garbage bin it belonged to.

Well, some did like it, but I don’t get it. Definitely not my cup of tea.

I really want to see Raimi's vision of this movie, tbh i didn't like the first Dr Strange, but i guess it was because Strange showed his potential in other movies like Thor Ragnarok (even for a short scene) and Infinity war, i hope for the best for Wanda, with all the fan rumors of people wanting Wanda to go crazy or being a minion of the final villain, i hope Wanda helps Strange, just like Black Widow and Hulk did in the Captain America/Thor movies.

I like that art way more than the one in the Avengers tie-in. Also it’s nice to know that the main run of Empyre acknowledges Wanda’s existence, I believe that’s more than we had in the main Avengers run in the recent months.

In the first issue of the new X-Factor, Magneto said to Lorna something like: “you will come for tea, at the House of M”. That was … weird

Maybe Wanda should return to the Mutants just because being a Mutant seems to do wonders with regards to age. Rogue appears to have gotten younger over the last decades. And in said issue, Lorna is a teenager now.

That's not a mutant thing specifically but just being a comics character. Spidey would be close to 70 if time moved like it does in real life.
