Strange was blatantly Hickman's self-insert, which tells you everything. Hickman can only write male characters and he always uses the "smart" men as is mouthpieces.

I hope other writers such as Orlando and Zub just ignore Hickman, frankly.

Well, it's not the first time Stephen has this selective memory issue, remember how he rant about her babies were not real and made her crazy etc, etc?
Doc just made a fool of himself since he was the guy who checked Wanda back then.
I don't blame him since he falls to this kind of dumb writing just as often, he didn't get much permanent damage though.

Originally before Robinson's solo book, it is more like Chthon picked Wanda for her mutant power and thinking his gift would work well with her mutant power.(Later in Busiek's version, Wanda's natural mutant power is likely energy manipulation, and basically would kinda serve as battery/conduit for her Chthonic power to my understanding.)
Her Witchcraft power originally came from her training with Agatha, which should be relatively independent from her other powers, but her witchcraft knowledge did seem to affect her other power set. Then her witch bloodline is added, though from my understanding it more or less just means she has the talent for learning magic because of this.

Exactly. If there were an optimum time, where there is the stromgest impetus for it to happen, for her to get back into the Avengers, it would have been these last 5 years. If even the presence of Wanda in the MCU Avengers can't get her back into Avengers comics, then what the hell can?

And its increasingly apparent that WandaVision is going to be the only MCU product that is getting no real tie-in comics (they seemed to have, perhaps cynically, moved Darkhold to conceal this fact).

That’s the impression I’ve been left with after this. Considering how Zub was left completely out of the loop about this, it would be fair play for him to act accordingly.

Just looking at some of the panels and description from the CBR article; this event has proven there things to me
    1. Hickman hates Wanda
    2. Marvel have no interest in actually helping the X-men progress
    3. Dr. Strange is a jerk, who I want to punch in the face.

I don't think I blame Strange for it, since he's just Hickman's mouthpiece. And also a character that he's mistreated in the past (had him controlled through much of Infinity). He's also a character that Marvel has be whatever they need for the moment, like Wanda.

True, especially as he was supposed to have stopped been arrogant when he became Sorcerer Supreme. So it is safe to assume Hickman just hates Magic users

Nothing for Wanda in November's solicits (who can be surprised?) though there are a few reprints in anticipation of the streaming series: apart from the reprints mentioned above, their two limited series from the '80s are being collected into a single volume.

Written by STEVE ENGLEHART & BILL MANTLO
Penciled by DON HECK, RICK LEONARDI, RICHARD HOWELL & AL MILGROM
    COVER BY ALEX ROSS
The unlikely romance between the Vision and the Scarlet Witch is one of the most famous Avengers storylines of all! Now, witness what happens when the two heroes finally get married and settle down in the suburbs! If you think they’re going to live the quiet life, think again! Wanda embraces her sorcerous heritage — but can a revelation about her family tree be believed? The Vision’s past threatens their future, as Ultron and the Grim Reaper strike! And things get even stranger when Wanda’s magic spells lead to the couple becoming…a family! That’s right, despite all odds the Scarlet Witch is pregnant — and now Wanda and Vision must prepare for the biggest responsibility of their lives! Collecting GIANT-SIZE AVENGERS #4, VISION AND THE SCARLET WITCH (1982) #1-4, VISION AND THE SCARLET WITCH (1985) #1-12 and WEST COAST AVENGERS (1985) #2.

    ISBN: 978-1-302-92864-3
    Trim size: 6-5/8 x 10-3/16

I like how the description of the first miniseries' famous revelation, of Magneto being her dad, tries to dance around the question of whether he's her dad or not.

It's a shame they couldn't create new tales for people to read to line up with the show.
