Woulda been cool if he showed up in some old school "the first BP suit" thing then

Not the suit that still has the blood stain of his enemies on it lol

Maybe it was to protect against an assassination attempt haha

Yeah except for st the time he got his ass best by Thor and ant man. Doom deserved to get rekted.. hard. You don't kill off a characters supporting cast member and get away with it while said character remains dead permanently. That's what pisses me off. Wakanda suffered all the damage and loss of life and dooms suffered... Losing money and slight embarrassment? Which both of those are nothing in the grand scheme of things and hardly seems like a proper defeat? Truth is mayberry is just providing lol service on that Interview as clearly his actions spoke louder than what ever lie he wants to spout there.

If T'Challa saved me as a child you bet I would address that in some capacity in my run and tell the best stories I possibly could While elevating him to new levels and hoping that my run inspired another Young soul who needed saving as well in their life.. Not utter trash that simply Insults Black people and makes a mockery of the character and his world.

Or this could of been an opportunity to sport some nice African garbs with a mix of afrofuturistic designs and traditions. Anything really like they went all out for Storm. Why not extend that courtesy to T'Challa since ya know, it's his book

Isn't the standard that women go all out, the guy just has to show up?

You can't blame him for wanting to be suited up just in case. Anyone remember the time Red Ghost kidnapped him in Fall of the Hulks? Possibly the one time in his life he lets his guard down and that happens. Wasn't a good look for it. Best to be ready cause ya never know.

lol! yep and she sure did a number on him. So thank Bast the man had that foresight to protect his neck from the get go then. Without that Vibranium weave to absorb all that beating (and boy did the x-office bring it) our dude could've gotten a second brain anyarism out here.

It doesn't make sense, and I have been to weddings wee the bride and groom both went all out. Honestly of I could redo my wedding, I would of done more to bling myself up, my wife of course looked stunning but it's oth the man and womans day why not look fly together? Same for T'Challa. Here, one of the few things I like about Coates run is the casual wear stelfreeze gave to T'Challa and seeing it makes you remember he can have other looks as well that are awesome

But what about Tchallas' personality makes you think he'd care about going all out. He seems like a function over form guy.

As usual Coates cherry-picked things to make an issue out of - "reluctant king", "Doras", "Wakandan colonizers", "reason T'Challa joined the Avengers"' "Wakandan gods", etc., - and decided to fix them, things that had either never been an issue to begin with or resolved long ago.

Looking back, the whole Inter-galactic empire arc is a repeat of the No One Man arc except the roles are reversed where T'Challa takes the role of the Doras and the Wakandans are already colonizers in space. He's using the galactic empire arc to tey to justify his entire run and it's just weak.

Yep, same story. Although the framing of it is a bit different (no doubt to ensure T'Challa never hit the Doras' level of "heroism"). While the Doras/Midnight Angels were angled to be these gallant black women (that's important) who rose up in the face of insurmountable odds. Taking on the cold and uncaring monarch (black man) with it's unfair system and laws designed [by said black men] to exploit and keep them down. Needless to say, T'Challa looks bad. Now you turn to T'Challa's galactic empire arc and he is angled as a reluctant king and an uninspired hero who only wish to be a lab rat above all else. Nonetheless he does spawn the galactic empire (grandest of evil the wakandans has ever committed as seen by the atrocities nuKillmonger and them did) as Shuri told him to his face. And he confesses to Storm (remember that long ass convo some time after his return) that he knew the empire was built on slavery basically and not only was he pessimistic about it, but went on to become its "champion" (You can guess what that may entail -being a champion of slavers). Fighting on its side rather than take the side of the oppressed because the oppressors in this case were "his own people"(Wakandans) as they made sure to harp on that point. Coates had him use words like "confronted with that crime I looked away" "indulging on a dream" in the face of all of this, by the way. It took them stabbing him in the back and losing his memories for him to do anything about it. Even then the catalyst for him doing anything heroic was Storm (those visions that told him to come home). Very little if not none of that urgency was on his own terms. Unlike the Doras who saw something that was not "right" and took it upon themselves to do something about it, turning to vigilantism. Such was their king's ineptitude to protect his people (women) and safe guard his nation. Coates had him fail on both counts and firmly in the wrong side of what is "right" or "just". But like the MA I guess, he now stand a chance at taking the land he don't deserve after of course Shuri, Storm and Eden save the day. Really hope those last books never see the light of day

Fans of THE Black Panther need to make their voices heard and speak up for Tchalla against these ppl looking to capitalize on Boseman's death
You are not wrong, the situation feels like watching an attempt at a coup d'état. Concerning making their voice heard, they should focus their attention on Kevin Feige, Nate Moore (executive producer on Black Panther) and Sarah Halley Finn (the casting director on many MCU movies and also the one that saw Chadwick Boseman's potential as T'Challa: https://www.indulgexpress.com/entert...ack-27776.html).

But we are talking about Priest version, it was plenty functional. And there's been plenty of times we have scene him in ceremonial garb. Its like the images I posted up above. Plus, he can take the mask up for his wedding. It would of made it just appeared more like he was showing he cares to do so. For the flak I give McGregor about his torture porn. His showings of T'Challa and Monica's relationship is legit good and that is how I expect T'Challa acts around the women he cares about

Sprinkle in there Coates had T'Challa be too stupid to trust achebe of the empire because the version he knew was a Villain from his timeline.. yet believed N'Jadaka just fine even though the N'Jadaka he knows is also a Villain and then turns out that N'Jadaka was tricking him the whole time!

Like Coates was so lazy with his story thst he couldn't even be bothered to come up with good reasons for why T'Challa acted the way he did and instead just doubled down on his focus of shitting on T'Challa. And also his whole deal with the MA was stupid for multiple reasons because they are just as at fault, if not more at fault with the issues plaguing Wakanda in the first season because they knew about the chieftains yet decided willingly to not report it up the chain, then are crying foul when they are facing charges for their actions.

All of his stories are half-baked ideas that maybe could of worked if they were 6 issues a piece instead of 12/24 but Coates just is a failure of a comic writer and has no business writing anything related to T'Challa and his mythos, especially since he had zero intentions of doing anything positive or uplifting to the mythos. The only ones who have benefited have been Storm and Eden.. two characters who aren't even apart of or from the mythos
