Thanks for keeping the thread alive, currently I can't write much around here since last time, first due to depression during all these months and currently due to the current world situation and some severe headaches that I have had for a couple of weeks, actually i'm more or less well.

Hopefully something changes regarding this great character that I love so much and for whom I only ask from the publisher and writers for something that is easy to understand, RESPECT AND JUSTICE.

Does Amora have a defining story arc? What exactly are her driving motivations? Just to f*ck with Thor? Is she one of the Aesir or a norn or something, I have forgotten. While I like her, I've never really seen her as more than a temptress with mystical powers. Would you even call her a witch? A sorceress?

It is difficult because very few writers have tried to do something else with her and I emphasize on to try but then either it was nothing or it did not go ahead.

Of the few writers more or less who tried to advance are Warren Ellis in the World Engine arc with the fact that she is Thor's girlfriend at last (objective completed without using her magic or charms, just something natural), Jurgens in his Thor's run and those one-shots of Fraction that later did not reflect anything in his Thor run and who really changed something It was Simonson but I think the theme only reduced it to Skurge the Executioner and his iconic death leaving only the theme of meeting Amora's sister, Lorelei who was terribly wasted potential when it would be the perfect chance to know Amora's past.

With DeFalco it was like a roller coaster, on the one hand Amora was evil, on the other ally without much definition. Maybe something good was in the series of Thor: Son of Asgard with the adolescent Amora and the Valkyrie but that was not canon.

Actually, Marvel's treatment with the Enchantress is a complete mess of ugly involution to previous characterization of the 60s that seems to have no end because the last 15 years are a disaster. Even the appearance of young Sylvie Lushton has barely had continuity when that had incredible potential.

Her motivations vary according to the writer, but always instead of steps forward, steps are taken behind and that is never good, I still hope that someone does something because in the end it will be considered that the best thing is to kill her and forget even her existence because writers don't love her.

She is a sorceress, one of the best in Asgard but very badly treated and humiliated in ridiculous ways due to ignorance of the person who writes the stories that she is a Goddess and this is happening for decades.
