Yep that felt like a culmination issue alright. Hulk gets the usual brief moment of public approval only to have it all ripped away from him again. Ewing is really good at infusing the acknowledgment that inevitably the status quo will reassert itself with melancholy. “This time it will be different”. Next issue has got to be Hulk and Leader confronting each other in Hell right? I wonder if that last page means Leader won’t have access to his Rick Jones disguise anymore?

I guess He won't have (or want to) to use it anymore. Considering the level of control (I assume) He has on the Green Door, I'd think he could regenerate the body.

Another Great Issue.

I still feel Ewing doesn't have Savage's speech patterns down. He's talking like Cookie Monster or Elmo.

Savage - from circa 1968 to 1982 - was capable of saying things like 'Hulk does not want to scare friends' not the current Caveman: 'Hulk not want to scare friends'.
Nit-pick from a purist, but still.

Hey - at least he looked like Sal / Herb's Hulk again!! Bravo!

I feel that issue has one of the biggest build up moments of all the run. The next one has the potential to be one of the best yet, specially with Bennett back!

As someone who isn’t a fan of what Ewing has done to hulk, will any of his ideas be in this? I’ve always liked this storyline from back in the day.
