Messner-Loebs was the one before Waid in Waily's Flash, right? I remember liking those comics.

Absolutely! I love Messner-Loeb's stories on par with Mark Waid's.
Also, the Justice League Europe stories were great fun whether Wally was in them or not (if you treasure humor like I do.)
For Elseworlds, the only one I cared for was Justice Riders where the theme was The American West circa 1880's. Very steampunk.

Baron's work was not great, but it did set the groundwork for Messner-Loeb's. Here's an ad for the trade. They also currently have a Buy2get1Free sale going on thru Saturday.

Parental care is way exhausting. Gained insight into what my parents went through when I was a baby. Not fun, but what ya gonna do? (Read comics, obviously.)

Justice League International was fun too (but, er, no Wally in there). Those two books need more love :3 (end of the off topic XD).

I'll look for that Elseworld. I love some steampunk.

Like Kyer said, get your hands on the Messner-Loebs issues.
He did an amazing job and set everything up for Mark Waid.
It's a fantastic run. (pun intended)

Like everyone else is saying definitely check out the Messner Loebs run. One of my favorite stories is from #48 to #50. It's a big change and turning point for Wally and an epic story with Gorilla Grodd.

Not to mention it has one of my favorite comic book moments of all time.

I don't know what's funnier, DC clearly having no idea what do with Wally, or the fact that Doctor Manhattan is yet another mantle now. lol

I think the article’s title is misleading. DC wouldn’t rename Wally Doctor Manhattan. It doesn’t make any sense.

But, damn, this preview is exciting !

It is frustrating that they can't just let Wally be who he is. But we all know that Didio needs Barry to be the one and only and not just the main one. I wouldn't mind them putting a new twist on Wally to give him his own niche but keeping his core intact.

As far as the preview goes I dont mind this whole Dr Manhattan Wally as long as it's just a very temporary stint just for this story. Could be interesting.

Wally also does look very cool in that blue suit.

This might actually just work for a bit.
