Give Betsy a crown, a new codename of Monarch, and have the Crown of Sight elevate her telepathic powers to an even higher degree.

Captain Britain cannot outshine Psylocke without fundamentally redefining who Betsy is.

This is my entire point. Captain Betsy will be just a “girl phase” for the CB brand unless this turn is used to define and refine the Betsy Braddock character outside of the Psylocke identity.

IMO, there's no way in hell the psychic ninja would be cast out in favour of the knight in, say, an X-Men video game.

UGH I knowwwww. And I've been having all my sword n board characters in video games as Betsy since the first Elder Scrolls games. And now every Dark Souls game I create my character as Betsy. It can work! But ninjas (hot ninja girl at that) will never not be coke for rabid gamers.

Betsy was fine as Psylocke in the year leading into HoX. There was no need to take that from her. I was really looking forward to seeing this new chapter in her life and it was yanked before much was done with it

I personally would've been fine with it. But I can't blame them for wanting to have a Psylocke that matches what people expect from the name.

She looks beautiful. At the very start I wasn't all on board with the Captain Britain change but now I prefer her that way instead of playing ninja.

Therefore its a dud. Its her creative vision and its not working. More than half of the characters make no sense for this book and dont fit its concept (Jubilee, Rogue, Gambit, Rictor) and in 8-9 issues, she hasnt made that make sense. It probably would have been better retooled as an Apocalypse solo with Betsy as a heavy recurring character. She and the rest would be better served elsewhere IMO

I actually kinda like Excalibur, but yeah, that's a weird argument to make.

I agree with those who say the book is overly plot-driven and lacking in weight. I also don't think the art team is doing a great job of giving the book a sense of place. But it's not a trainwreck. It's not Chuck Austen.
