I still don't understand why she traded Revanche for Psylocke. To annoy Betsy?

Personal opinion: Revanche is a terrible name.
Professional opinion: It's important to resolve 30 years of intellectual property in the same brand kit. How those brand elements were collected and boxed are debatably terrible. It's good that "Psylocke" is simply an Asian psychic now.

I had high hopes for Kwannon also...but it seems more and more they just want her to be exactly like Betsy was in her body. So once more, Kwannon is just a shell.

They could have kept a similar look. A sexy ninja with a katana and a psy knife. They didn't need to keep the name and butterfly effect with her though.

I know I post these exercises all the time, but it's just to try out different designs, and it's more and more obvious to me they could have gotten the ninja and the knight aspects correct to each one of them:

With something similar to this, fans of the ninja look could still have their mysterious sexy ninja with katanas and a psychic knife, while Betsy fans would still have the adventurous knight damsel with the butterfly and tk shield and longsword.

They both could look cool and have unique color schemes.

We Betsy fans wouldn't feel so robbed, and everybody would be happier.

I love these designs. For once I want Kwannon to have a different outfit than the thongkini. The fact that anime Ninjas have thousands of designs that vary differently in style speaks to how much Marvel can't think outside of her design. How difficult is it to have something this fanservicy and still not be good enough?

Just going over some Clay Mann sketches and pages. It’s a travesty he wasn’t attached to one of these books. He’d be exceptional on Excalibur, since his Betsy, Rogue, and Gambit all look amazing.

As much as we’d like to see Kwannon take her look in a new wild Japanese/Fighter Game look, I think they’ll stick with thongkini for at least 2020. Eventually they’ll give her something new, but it’ll probably be similar to Betsy’s more recent looks, where they just “fill in the blanks”. Pants, full arms, maybe cut-outs. They’re unlikely to reinvent the wheel on a character whose entire brand is just an image.

I miss eye plucking Kwannon. She managed to be even more hardcore than Betsy!! I haven't had time to check out Fallen Angels, but I've not heard anything positive.

The hate for Fallen Angels was overblown. It mainly came from hardcore Laura fans, and/or people who hated Kwannon getting the Psylocke name/costume.

I'd say the criticism against the art was valid though.
