Jim Lee drew Betsy before her Japanification?

Jim Lee also drew Pre-Nimbo Betsy in his first X-Men issue
(heavy inks by Dan Green) in X-MEN #248

I'm really into this Ben Caldwell piece! You know, I don't hate the CB design but some artists can really make it look too big and clunky. The artists who get it right though?! They get make it look gooooooooood. If we constantly had the likes of Brooks, Larraz, Caldwell, and Silva dishing out Betsy covers I'd be in heaven.

Love those panels. She looks like a model. I adore how Betsy loved to swim in the cave.

And she was always half naked in the leisure time of the team....swimming, posing for Colossus, taking a bath.... Betsy as already sexualized even before the body swap.

Silverstri’s Elisabeth was indeed a stunner. And it was amazing watching her slow rise to leadership I the group during that period. A slow burn leading up to the Siege Perilous solution. Not quite on the level of manipulative on the scale of Dr Druid and the Avengers but Betsy didn’t shy from pushing a telepathic button or twelve to get folks to do as she wanted.

Which is why her as Captain Britain doesn't make sense. She was never the hero, not like Brian. She was always the sword.

Is this an Amulet of Right vs Sword of Right thing?
There’s precedent for a Captain Britain choosing the Sword.

And Betsy wasn’t born to the role of HERO but she WANTED it.

Agreed. Although Im not a fan of the design. Some artist make it look way better.

I have some questions Betsy experts: has Betsy ever referenced Thomas Lennox since his death? He was a telepath/telekinetic but was he a mutant? I know humans can have those powers without being a mutant (like Moondragon).

I also wonder how long they were lovers..

I've been reading some Captain Britain stuff for the first time, but am missing parts.

You guys talking about Jim Lee made me think about Beast saying my favorite line about Psylocke. Plus Cyclops with a good one-liner...

I loooooooove it. Those wrist guards and those shoulder attachments are amazing, the chest piece is smaller with a more compact X, and there aren't all those flaps in the waist area. I don't even mind the cape here! He should've gotten the design job from the jump.
