Jessicas black costume is for her solo series. She uses the classic for superhero work and the Jacket for PI work.

In Origin she went under at the age of 7 or so and woke up biologically 17. Hydra told Jess 10 years. This implies they lied to her and it was longer than that, since Michael is apparently physically older than Jess even though he was born after her.

And Miles Warren has been tied to Jess since Spider-Woman Origin it was only just now that anyone did anything with that dangling thread.

Issue #1 is on Marvel unlimited this week so here's Marvel's recommended reading list

    Issue #4 was fantastic.

    That ending was killer.

It's Miriam these days and you'll have to read the issue to find out!

I find Perez's artwork a little rough. Not in terms of style-- he has a very clean style, but Jess often looks kinda, well, blah. It's not just the outfit -- which isn't doing the book or Jess any favors (have to question the writer's taste since she proclaims to love it). Perez seems a little more comfortable drawing backgrounds and technology, but I'm not sold on his Jessica/Spider-Woman work. It's not a turn off -- just think he needs to work at it.

It is! I think it's a 30 page issue with two stories. The second story has art by Mattia De Iulis so it's gonna be gorgeous.

I’m curious, did Jessica have a point of her British accent slipping due to stress or was it an editorial oversight considering that at the end of last issue, she referred to her as ‘mom’ but in this issue, after she flipped out, she started calling her ‘mum’.

I thought from the Motion Comic that she's supposed to just generally have the accent.

Yeah, she's British, and Brits don't say Mom. It should've been Mum all along.

I know several creators have said that Jess has spent most of her life in the US so her accent has kind of faded but it turns up now and again in figures of speech and such. She may refer to herself as "mom" in regards to Jerry, but her mom will always be Mum to her.

I need to check the MMW again, but were her parents Brits or Americans. If the latter --- then she shouldn't have a British accent, because she spent little time with British folks until she was an adult.

Pretty sure in Origin both her parents are British, though it's not clarified.

Stolen from Wikipedia and the Origin that Karla is using and is now the established canon:

Origin does away with the spider-blood serum and genetic accelerator elements of the character's previous origin story. Instead, Jessica's powers derive from her mother's womb being hit by a laser beam containing the DNA traits of several different species of spiders while she was carrying Jessica (the Drews were trying to splice and harness spiders' environmental adaptive capabilities to graft them into the human genome).[28][29]

After Jessica's parents disappear under mysterious circumstances, Jessica is recruited into HYDRA (under false pretenses), where she is made into a formidable fighter and assassin. She is trained and mentored by Taskmaster, who trains her in many martial disciplines and more than seven different fighting styles out of his own "arsenal".[30]

In this re-telling, Otto Vermis, originally recruiting her into HYDRA, is rather an old, retired HYDRA agent whom Jessica seduces to gain information that will lead her to her mother.[31]

In addition, Origin made the following modifications:

Merriam Drew was now Miriam Drew.[28]
The Drews moved to Wundagore Mountain prior to Jessica's conception, establishing without a doubt that she was born on the European landmark. Afterwards, she was raised by her nanny Bova (human in appearance), as well as her mother.[28]
Jessica's father, Jonathan, never found uranium on their land. Instead, their research was funded by HYDRA, and their direct liaison/financier from the group was General Wyndham. It is not clear what connection, if any, he had with Edgar Wyndham (who, in the original Spider-Woman books, was Jonathan's best friend and research partner), nor with the High Evolutionary.[28]
Jessica's father worked in large part with Miles Warren who later left the project because he felt that there was more potential in experimenting with the cloning of human cells.[2

So, it'll be interesting to see how this goes because the High Evolutionary is definitely a player in an upcoming issue - so. Not ALL of Jess' origin from her series has been canned.
