Funny, Perez indicates it's an homage to Carmine Infantino, but for some reason the legendary artist that really comes to mind given Perez's style is Steve Ditko.

While I agree that Spider-Man should not appear in Jessica's book regularly, there is nothing wrong with having (non Spider-Man) Parker show up in a cameo spot (talking to Jessica about their shared interests that's not Spider related). Jessica does that with Carol all the time and vice versa in a shared cameo. I would love to see a few underused Spider-Man rogues become part of Jessica's rogues like Mister Negative, Morlun, Morbius and Hobgoblin..

I'm all for the occasional cameo, but I would pushback strongly against Peter becoming part of Jessica's regular supporting cast ... or even her tech support hierarchy. Maybe it's a generational thing, but I've grown up and grown old with Jessica operating independently of Parker. I can barely stomach the notion of her getting spidery webs on her costume similar to his.

I also reject the subtle notion that Jessica has to be reimaged in Peter's frame and lighting, or be made to ride his coat tails in order to remain a successful book. Let a woman stand on her own graces and rise or fall accordingly.

More importantly, don't let the writers off the hook by introducing Peter as a major player in Jessica's mythos. That's too easy. Make them earn their keep.
