With the Year coming to an end Soon I like to Thank Everyone who Once again participated in the Challenge this year both new and returning posters.

It is indeed an Honor to see all your posts and to see you all enjoying and going into such amazing details in your lists, indeed it is a treat seeing the lists of movies you all have been doing, such great in-riching of our lives threw this fine medium and Art!

As per years end I am planing on doing the CHALLENGE AGAIN for 2021 as well!

Anyone that wants to be apart of it I will have the list Up by the beginning of the year, But the Challenge for 2021 Start Right at the Start of the New Year in 2021 at Midnight!

I'm am also thinking for 2021 with how Hecktic this past years was and how Large this challenge Was in 200 Movies I might be taking it back down to 150 for 2021.

If that does not sit right just let me know, but I like to just make it abit more easying going for a new year we all likely would like to tone things down in our lives abit after this past year.

Also I am adding some new Rules to the challenge to expaned on the Movie Medium opinions as well to make it more accepable for those that want to expand their Viewing opitions.

2 New Rules for 2021:

1.) Documentaries will be included as well as long as they are in the movie format. If any problems or concerns let me know.

2.) The ONLY OPINON in watching a movie Final Choice.

Any watch of movies done by Piracy Is still not allowed, but still in my own looking for Older and Rarer movies to watch I have come across Movies that have I have found no way to get them either by VHS, DVD or Streaming services. These more obsure movies I have yet found fully posted on places like You-Tube and others by users. Now I still encourage the other formats as the main opinions to support the movie industry, but if their is a Very Hard to find movies you want to watch but can only see it cause it was fully posted on You-Tube by a user or a similiar for like that, I am considering that ok, but only as a last resort. If the studios that made them seem not care to make DVD's of them or them being posted like this YouTube and others, then I would not worry to much over it.

If thier is any problems with these new 2021 Rule or the Lessing of the amount of Movies for 2021 just post here and I was take them into account, Thanks for any feedback.

Finally, I might Move the 2021 Forum to the TV/FILM forums, Not Sure yet, if you want to keep in here on the community board just like me know, if not I will consider the movie to make the challenge of film in the film forum.

For the first time ever, I completed the challenge. While I'm sure that being in a pandemic helped a bit (it was I’m happy that I got to 200 movies, but I’m a bit displeased that I missed out on all of my sub goals. I only watched 52 of the AFI Top 100 though, I will continue next year). I only watched 19 foreign films out of the 50 that I was hoping to watch. Finally, I just barely missed out on my goal to watch 150 new movies at like 145 or something like that. Next year, I will either set more reasonable (or fewer) sub goals or I will be more disciplined.

These more obsure movies I have yet found fully posted on places like You-Tube and others by users. Now I still encourage the other formats as the main opinions to support the movie industry, but if their is a Very Hard to find movies you want to watch but can only see it cause it was fully posted on You-Tube by a user or a similiar for like that, I am considering that ok, but only as a last resort. If the studios that made them seem not care to make DVD's of them or them being posted like this YouTube and others, then I would not worry to much over it.

If thier is any problems with these new 2021 Rule or the Lessing of the amount of Movies for 2021 just post here and I was take them into account, Thanks for any feedback.

Finally, I might Move the 2021 Forum to the TV/FILM forums, Not Sure yet, if you want to keep in here on the community board just like me know, if not I will consider the movie to make the challenge of film in the film forum.

I think 150 films makes sense. People may have less free time on their hands when the pandemic is taken care of.

As for watching movies in legal formats, I'm guessing it's okay to watch public domain films on Youtube or MP4 downloads from the Internet Archive.

One idea that may be worth considering is smaller voluntary sub-challenges once a month, to give people more reason to post regularly. It could be open-ended stuff like five films with the same actor, or ten films you haven't seen in a decade, or five films from a particular best of list.

Time for my annual comments on what I watched in 2020:

Best film: Knives Out, which just edged out The Gentlemen. Knives Out is a film that works brilliantly both as a standard whodunnit, and as a black comedy. Although Daniel Craig is billed as the star, the film features brilliant performances from its ensemble cast (Chris Evans, Jamie Leigh Curtis, Toni Collette, Don Johnson, Christopher Plummer, etc.) , and especially Ana de Armas as the young nurse accused of murdering her wealthy employer. The writing is brilliant, and if you ever think you know where the story is going, you almost certainly don't.

Worst film: The Curse of the Headless Horseman. This now the officially the worst film I have ever seen. And not in a 'so bad it's good' way either. Every aspect of this movie is terrible. A plot that would have made for a mediocre episode of Scooby Doo is stretched out to feature length, and performed by a cast of largely amateur actors. Large chunks of the dialogue appear to have been improvised. Plot elements are introduced, and then never mentioned again. The film is padded with things like musical interludes from the cast, who are no better musicians than they are actors. Underground celebrity Ultra Violet makes a cameo for one scene where she attempts to buy the park, and then disappears again, seemingly just so she can be listed as the 'star' of the film. The narration tries from deep and philosophical and just sound pretentious and confused. Everything was shot on location and the director did no rerecording, so vast swathes of possibly plot relevant dialogue is lost under environmental noise. The director chose to shot some of the most important scenes in extreme long shot, making it almost impossible to tell what you are looking at. Honestly, just avoid this movie at all costs.

Best animated film: Frozen 2. I didn't watch very many animated films this year, but this was a worthy followup to the original.

Best documentary: Scream Queen! My Nightmare on Elm Street. Again, I didn't watch many documentaries, but this a film that will of interest to any fan of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, and may explain why the second film is the odd one out in the series.

Best discovery: The Aggression Scale, a 2012 film that can best be described as 'Home Alone played as a horror movie'.

Best guilty pleasure: Seven. No, not the serial killer movie. This is a 1979 action film in which seven assassins are hired to take out seven crime lords who are planning a takeover of Hawaii. No, it's not very good but it is fun. and it features the first of the 'shoot the swordsman' gag that would later be made famous by Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Just scraping with my 200 films. I, for one, will be very happy to go back to 150 films for 2021.

For the first time ever, I completed the challenge. While I'm sure that being in a pandemic helped a bit (it was I’m happy that I got to 200 movies, but I’m a bit displeased that I missed out on all of my sub goals. I only watched 52 of the AFI Top 100 though, I will continue next year). I only watched 19 foreign films out of the 50 that I was hoping to watch. Finally, I just barely missed out on my goal to watch 150 new movies at like 145 or something like that. Next year, I will either set more reasonable (or fewer) sub goals or I will be more disciplined.

Those Goals are indeed impresive, espically the ones with the Top 100 AFI Movies, I have had similiar ideas to what movies from the whole like I have not yet seen, so thanks for that. Also Congrats on hitting 200 this year and completing this hard challenge and participating C_Miller!

Yea I remember 1 concerned question about documentaries like a year or 2 ago, back then it was said documentaries where good as well, but I wanted to make sure the resolve to it was stated in DA Rules here going forward just in case.

Glad you Agree too with the 150 films going back idea too, feels more reasonable yet still a challenge.

Thanks for your input on the public domain films, their are indeed FAR more out their then I relized, as my DA RULES will say for 2021, if the Studio's don't care they are their then they are good for view, Thanks for your input and support of the idea.

Those are some good ideas on the smaller voluntary sub-challenges you gave, I might try to give support in posts along the year to those as well. If you want to include some ideas in the new thread for 2021 from time to time to help give other posters ideas and goals feel free to do so!

Here is My Final and Full List for the 200 Challenge and I just Made it to 200 Today. Indeed this as a more major challenge then I thought it would be but really it was more rewarding then I could have hoped for.
