Has Lorna’s occupation as an archaeologist ever been used in stories?
I mean, look at Lara Croft.

Well depends on what you mean by used, and I don't think that it's her job, it's more that what she went to school for...

Aw, that's cute. Nice seeing Lorna popping up in other titles.
I think her geophysics degree is just part of showing how members of X-Men are allowed to retire and become normal. Same thing Claremont wanted for Cyke.
But heroes never truly go away do they?
Anyway the most you can say is her mutation ties into it, in terms of the earth having a magnetic field etc. I don't really think Lorna "goes on digs" or anything but maybe she did use it a little during the ... wait for it ... Austen run. I seem to recall during the wedding planning she was doing, she was doing some kind of archeology or some such
Forget the old ways - Krakoa is god.

I like that Lorna is smart and educated. I think most of the x-characters should have education, training, and/or occupations. It makes them more interesting and relatable. So Lorna is ABD or stopped with her master's degree (no shame in that unless you are one of those people in academia that see anything besides a PhD as worthless).
Beast gets to use his credentials and education all the time in stories but others such as Lorna should get to focus on their areas of expertise as well imo.
I reread ANXF recently right before my old 12.9 iPad died for good - much like this pairing. I enjoyed their way too short flirtation.
