Feminism is no longer an option unless they set the story back in 70s or change her nationality to some developing country. Wonder woman is a story that spans thousands of years with misogynistic Greek Gods being supporting characters which allows her to be feminism to be timeless. Captain Marvel meanwhile is cosmic superhero that should represent humanity and NASA instead IMO

You are completely out of touch with reality if you think a woman fighting against sexism in her own family and workplace is not a topical subject to someone not living in a ''developing country''. It's like saying that we shouldn't discuss poverty, homelessness or famine in first world countries because some people have it worst elsewhere. Some of the feminist stuff that Carol discussed in her first Ms. Marvel comic, like equal pay, is **** that's still absolutely being discussed today in western society.

The glass ceiling description narrows it to a specific group of class of women who have only one step remaining to achieve full equality in society.

I can see it working with grounded characters like Jessica Jones, Spiderwoman. Also Carol no longer have secret identity unlike her Ms Marvel days. If there was something like that it could have been an option but Marvel is obviously not interested in it. I honestly would love for Marvel to give back her secret identity which can lead to her living and experiencing an ordinary life.

Yeah, Carol's paycheck is still probably smaller than less powerful, less experienced male Avengers.

She probably can't get a number of medical procedures without asking a man's permission first.

Sure, Carol's a world famous superhero who had an apartment in the statue of liberty, she's held a number of high profile jobs with access to highly sensitive data.....but people probably still tell her she needs to smile more.

Carol might have more privilege than a lot of others, but even she doesn't live in a world where she's treated equally. Not yet.

Carol just had an arc where she led an army of women against a misogynist super villain. Plus there is the unoffical policy that Carol is written by female writers. And her supporting cast is very female centric. It is still very much a theme of her adventures

The unofficial policy is what holding Carol backwards. They need it to give to best person for the Job not based on gender.

Kelly Thompson is unquestionably one of the best writers at Marvel. I'm not sure there's another writer who would do a better job (considering writing ability and interest in the character).
