I haven't read so much this month because of work. However, I reread the N52 Batman. I loved the initial Court of Owls stories, but the whole Gordon as Batman thing didn't work for me. I think the idea was fine and I was happy to read it, it just didn't read well in the end. I also wasn't keen on the whole collection of one shots to wrap up his run. I'm not sure if they were spread out and more meaningful whilst writing and then just collected as the final TPB, but whatever. I would have preferred an extra arc.

    My reads for June:

    Transformers: Lost Light #14-25 (12)
    Optimus Prime 15-25 (11)
    Transformers: Unicron #0-6 (7)
-This finished out my IDW Transformers binge. Revolution and all the Hasbro crossover stuff did nothing for me (I have no attachment to any of those franchises) but I enjoyed the run overall. Lost Light and its predecessor title were the highlights for me, even if I did have a bit of trouble keeping all the characters across all the books straight due to not knowing much about Transformers aside from a few characters I recall from childhood.

    Sex Criminals #29

    Batman (2016) #92-93 (2)
    Nightwing (2016) #71
    Nightwing (2016) Annual #3
    Batman: Gotham Nights (2020) #7, 9 (2)
    Joker 80th Anniversary Special #1 (3)
    Catwoman 80th Anniversary Special #1 (3)
    Batman: The Smile Killer #1
    Birds of Prey (2020) #1
    Strange Adventures (2020) #2
    Flash (2016) #755-756
    (2)
    Flash (2016) Annual #3
    Lois Lane (2019) #11
    Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen (2019) #11
    Swamp Thing: New Roots #6

    Valkyrie: Jane Foster #10

    Black Panther (2016) #1-18
    (18)
    Black Panther #166-172 (7)
    Black Panther (2018) #1-22
    (22)
-I definitely enjoyed this run much more before the most recent relaunch with all the space stuff, but at least it eventually ties all the stories together. Wish the final issues of the run would be put out though!

    Excalibur (2019) #10
    New Mutants (2019) #10

    Uncanny X-Men#231-280
    (50)
    New Mutants (1983) #95-97 (3)
    X-Factor (1986) #35-39, #60-62, 65-70 (14)
    X-Men (1991) #1-3 (3)
X-Men: Fatal Attractions (Milestones TPB) (12)
    X-Men: Phalanx Covenant (Milestones TPB)(17)
    Generation X (1994) #1-15 (15)
    Generation X Annual 1995 #1
    X-Men: Legionquest TPB
    (12)
    X-Force (1991) #42
X-Men: Age Of Apocalypse: Dawn TPB
    (10)
X-Men: Age Of Apocalypse Vol 1 - Alpha TPB (9)
X-Men: Age Of Apocalypse Vol 2 - Reign TPB (14)
X-Men: Age Of Apocalypse Vol 3 - Omega TPB (13)
    X-Men: Road to Onslaught 1 TPB (12)
    X-Men: Road to Onslaught 2 TPB (4)
-Finally finished my Claremont re-read (after only having read his run for the first time last year, I decided almost immediately to re-read it at a slower pace to better absorb and savor it) and enjoyed even more than the first time. I then re-read some select storylines through Age of Apocalypse before finally diving into the post AoA material for the first time. My goal is to eventually have read all the X-Books up to the present, if I can stand it.

    Total for June: 292
    Year to Date Total: 1716

Looks like I’m on track to possibly top 2000 by end of July if I can keep up my current pace!

Powers of X #1-6/ House of X #1-6: Awesome launching pad for Hickman's X-Men relaunch.

Half Past Danger #1-6/ Volume 2 #1-5: Solid World War 2 adventure story. With some dinosaurs and decent characterization.

Once & Future #1-8:Decent beginning to a modern fantasy series with clever dynamics (the idea that resurrecting King Arthur may go badly, the hero's grandmother as the hero-scholar.)

The Boys #52-72: I don't know if the series needed 72 issues, but the final arcs do go in some interesting directions.

Transformers: All Hail Megatron #1-12/ Drift #1-4/ Spotlight: Drift: Drift seemed like a Dinobot ripoff, but the stories are okay. The main arc uses the villain's victory as a soft reboot. It's okay Transformers comics, and more accessible than the norm.

Spawn #26-28/ Angela #0, 1-3/ Violator #1-3: These aren't great comics, with Alan Moore & Neil Gaiman having different takes on Spawn than what we see in the main book, which wasn't all that interesting to begin with, although they have some fun with the ridiculous mythos.

No One Left to Fight #1-5: I really should like a Dragon Ball Z influenced comic, but the fights are too low-stakes, which kinda makes sense with the theme of victorious heroes who have nothing to do, but isn't that interesting.

Silver Surfer Black #1-5: Trippy but satisfying cosmic Marvel arc.

    Comics So Far: 760

Best of the batch: House of X #2. A great standalone story in which everything changes.

Knight & Squire #1-6: Decent series about the wacky world of British superheroes.

Locke & Key Volumes 1, 2 & 3: 18 issues total. It's a great dynamic, explored effectively, and with some big moments, like the way everything changes in the second volume.

Sugar & Spike #24-30: Cute charming series about misbehaving toddlers, and how they see the world.

JSA #76-81: The Geoff Johns issues are decent superhero comics.

The Man of Steel #1-6, Superman #1-6, Action Comics #1001-1006: Bendis and a bevy of great artists, explore Superman's heart and character, though there are some structural flaws. The big bad is a bit unearned.

X-Men #1-9, Giant Sized: Nightcrawler, Giant Sized: Magneto, Giant Sized: Emma Frost & Jean Grey: Hickman & company explore the ramifications of the mutants becoming a major superpower, with some interesting new concepts (Krakoa's twin, evil elderly horticulturalists.)

The Old Guard #1-5, The Old Guard: Force Multiplied #1-5: Solid action series about jaded immortals. I love the match of Fernandez with this style of coloring.

    Comics So Far: 837 Issues

Best of the batch: Locke & Key Volume 2
