    Default DC cosmic

How do the DC cosmic characters work in the DC world compared to Marvel cosmic? What part do they play in events?

I don't think we have a planet devourer but we do have a sentient planet

for the sake of people who don't read Marvel, how does it work over there?

Like ar Marvel, there are different cosmics univers at DC, there are different eras with different versions of characters, and different type of events.
So to give a simple answer is not possible.

DC has Mogo instead of Ego, the Living Planet.
DC has Green Lanterns instead of Guardians of the Galaxy but they aren't funny.
The Asgardians are called New Gods at DC.

The Big hand or the Presence as it's called is another one. I was just curious since Marvel has cosmic characters like the Eternals, Celestials, etc, what the landscape over at DC looks like over here.

DC ignores their cosmic characters longer than Marvel does.

The Green Lanterns are really more like Marvel’s Nova Corps.
Just that DC often forgets that anything else is out there.

DC’s Guardians would more likely be the Omega Men, if they were just allowed to go mainstream.

DC has some good material to use: Rann, Thanagar, Tamaran, the Vega System, Mars, Apokolips, New Genesis, Oa...

DC has Captain Comet, so DC comes out on top regardless. He's all you really need.

Very doubtful. When did we last see him anyway? He appeared once or twice since Morrison's ACTION COMICS. THRESHOLD? Did he show up in that TELOS book?

    I'm getting sad now.

He was in Morrison's Action Comics? Wow, I don't remember him at all.

I wanna say the last thing I do recall reading with him was Rann/Thanagar Holy War... :-/

    Exactly!

But how they expect us to care about the character, about the dark corners of Hardcore Station (or any space station for that matter), about alien mobster, brain swappers, alien races and planets, if we still haven't got our
"Captain Comet....but when he was a teenager having sexuality problems" by a New York Times bestselling author, said author could write action comics next.

    or

"Captain Comet: Hero....or Zoophile? A True Tyrone Story". A YA Novel.

We need to know which size his d*ck is, that's the kind of information that matters. That's the future and they can't deny it, or deny us of that information.
Heck! They should relaunch Who's Who with that kind of information on every character's profile. And then we can think about cosmic stories, or don't, it's all boring anyway.
What would really be nice is a race\gender swap because reasons.

    AT&T do something!

On a more serious note, that, and Brainiac, Mongul, Vril Dox, Maxima (not Minima).

In different time periods there's the Maltusians and their creations right at the beggining of the universe, the lords of order and chaos. In the future we have Legion of Superheroes and the United Planets.

But writers they are hiring today don't know any of this and are too lazy to learn since superheroes came from cartoons and are for kids right? so just forget it. We are not in the 80s anymore, today people don't have respect.
