Because they keep coming up from the basement talking "shop" and can't even get their stories straight when questioned.
Then, when Courtney's not home, Pat disappears. Mike is a kid and sees another kid stealing his dad, but I'd think Barbara would cock an eyebrow at this and ask what's up.

Barbara's probably too busy with work to have noticed in-depth, but even she's starting to think Courtney and Pat are spending too much time together (or claiming to do stuff Barbara probably should've been aware of).

Of course, it makes sense that Courtney and Pat wouldn't talk at length about their cover stories. They can barely agree on anything .

Yeah, if Court was my daughter I'd want to know what's going on. I know Barbara married Pat so naturally she would trust him to some degree, but that's still her daughter. They're clearly hiding something. It needs to be resolved before the season wraps or Barbara is going to come across as way too naive.

We know that's not going on but both Barbara and Mike deserve to know.

It's great seeing some of Roy Thomas's creations get some respect on the Stargirl TV show. I'm hoping for more of 'Infinity Inc' in season 2 -- Jade and Obsidian would be awesome!

Would you agree “suspicious” would be a more apt term?

C'mon, now, had she gone for a glass of water, Barb would have seen Pat coming out of Courtney's room in the middle of the night.

    It's kinda creepy.

I have to say, Shining Knight seemed to be pretty awesome in his action debut. Wonder if he's going to train the kiddies, teach them how to fight? He obviously knows and they obviously don't...so...

I think he's probably more honed in combat then Pat is at any rate. Pat's main contribution is his knowledge of the JSA/ISA.

He destroyed Shiv, who was basically wiping the floor with Courtney. You know what would be fun? If they actually called up some guys from HEMA or the like to choreograph Shining Knight's fight scenes; the small screen has rarely if even seen the real stuff, actually, I'm not sure if the big screen has either, so it would be novel, and brutal.

BTW, have they ever said WHY the Injustice Society didn't loot the dead and take the pen, the Helm, and the Lantern at least? I would have. Or why when they didn't, Pat just left three of the most powerful weapons in the universe just lying around with no real guards? And why didn't he try them himself? If he was concerned about the Injustice Society at all, he should have. Kind of a plot hole, I should think.

Clearly Hooty collected and whisked them all away.

As far as the Lantern, it's usually not carried into battle, but hidden away.
They might have not even known the source of the rings power.
And the ring is still unaccounted for.

Same, for the pen, they likely didn't realize it was the source of power. Doesn't it only become that after the fact. And even if they suspected, would it have worked for just anyone? If not, potentially dismissing the idea of it.

Did they know what McNider's goggles did?.

Was the helmet even the source of Nelson's power? Honestly asking, I'm not that familiar?

Seems unlikely they didn't know about the Lantern, the ring, and the pen. And yes, the Helm when you put it on gives you the power of Nabu, and the ability to call yourself Dr. Fate, which you have to admit is a huge plus. As for the goggles, AFAIK that's new for the series, but in any event, they're probably too low lever for most of the Injustice Society to be interested in, save the Gambler, who the goggles probably wouldn't give the time of day.

I have to admit I really, really want Hooty to play a role in the show...

When you see how Pat regards the original JSA, I doubt he ever considered using their original gear for himself.

The ISA probably thought they trashed the JSA so thoroughly that there was nothing left. They didn't know Hourman was still alive until they found out he was snooping on them.
