Great going, Mikel! As soon as I saw that cover, I knew it had "winner" written all over it.

Congrats LordMikel. A lit of good covers this week. I think this might have been my favorite week yet.

Congrats on the ironclad win Mikel. And thanks for the 3 votes for that Barry Smith gem.

Congratulations to LordMikel for a Marvelous and Timely (pun intended) cover which is an example of facing our aging by seeing those "future" years become our present and then our past.

And now, the peak of the week where the captain extols what he has learned this week. He has in past weeks, gone on about how covers that actually spell out the theme don't win. The whys and wherefores of this phenomenon are beyond his capacity to comprehend, but this week we saw a truly perfect storm (well, Iron Man) and the appropriateness of this cover was beyond the apparent (made up by me) laws of contest voting. A helluva way to start of the 2020s here.

The tallyperson often does. He was last on at 1:52am, so give him time.

I did as soon as I tallied the votes.

But I wonder if the title confused him. I tend to make the title and some of the message content my attempt at humor when I congratulate winners.

Thank you everyone for the votes. My apologies in the delay of posting a new contest, but it is now up. Dang worked scheduled me for two meetings in the morning and then cancelled them both before I got there. I hoped that once I saw the Iron Man 2020 it might get the "timely" votes. Glad to see I wasn't the only one who thought that.
I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:

Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.
