You were Spider-Man then. You and Peter had agreed on it. But he came back right when you started feeling comfortable.
You know what it means when he comes back.
"You're not the better one, Peter. You're just older."

Lately, I've been thinking about Danny's potential for a return as well. Would love to see him do more than just guest star and maybe headline a title again. However, looking at the recent climate now, with characters with racial, ethnic, or cultural backgrounds now are being scrutinized and retooled, part of me is afraid that we'll see the "white savior" arguments again. If that's the case, I hope that critics can see there have been changes to the character and his mythos, like the introduction of Pei or his long-standing friendship with Luke, changes for the better.
In any case, I've been digging Netflix's Iron Fist theme recently. Wish the fighting in season 1 of the series was just as good as the intro. Plus, wish there could have been more Iron Fist qualities. Other than that though, it taps into that mysticism of Iron Fist:
"I am a man of peace."
"A man of peace...who fights like ten tigers."
IMO, his solo series have been generally pretty good. Yes, Power Man and Iron Fist was a great series, and Heroes for Hire had its moments, but the Claremont/Byrne series and Immortal Iron Fist series were excellent, too. You just need a creative team that actually cares enough about Danny to make it work.
Edit: plus, if he's on a team-book, there's always a chance he'll be relegated to a crappy role, eg. team jerk, comic side-kick, or just wallpaper.
