They really need to do more with her, I love her She-Thing persona. They should have her in the Future Foundation comics.

Agreed. And I love that cover, as well.

Someone could have a great time making a list of every character that's ever used more than one code-name.

Yeah, that would be a balance team of powers and one I want to see as well.

To the utmost, I agree. F4 always has the most interesting substitute members.

    Fantastic Four #338 Mar 1990
"Kangs for the Memories!!! Or Guess Who's Coming to Dinner!"
The Fantastic Four, Thor, Iron Man and the FF time sled are trapped
within a swirling quantum vortex some twenty years into Earth's future.
Johnny Storm has passed out and it is taking all of Reed's piloting skills to keep the time sled in one piece.
From the outer rings of the vortex, images of Kang the Conqueror,
the blue skinned woman and her mental slave, Dr. Druid, can be seen.

They finally pierce the distortion wave and solidify inside the time bubble.
Time is moving at such an extremely slow rate of speed, that the entire futuristic city appears frozen.
A probability field powered by the Rad-D unit in the present keeps the time sled outside of the distortion zone.

The Fantastic Four discover that they are not the only time strangers here.

The 82nd century bounty hunter known as Death's Head has arrived in this era as well.
Death's Head roars up in his sky cycle and the FF and he
trade shots before settling down to learn of each other's mission.
A group called the Time Variance Authority had hired Death's Head to travel to this era
and determine why the time bubble had not collapsed upon itself as expected.

As they continue exploring the city inside the time bubble, Kang the Conqueror arrives
and tries to destroy the probability field keeping the time sled out of the distortion effect.
Iron Man blasts Kang out of the air, and Death's Head interrogates him.
Tearing his helmet off, he finds that this version of Kang is a reptilian alien
and is not the same Kang that has plagued the Avengers for so many years.

In an uncharacteristic display of anger, Johnny Storm suggests that they kill Kang.
Reed and Sue are shocked to hear him declare such a thing.

Reed Richards uses a scanning device to see if he can pinpoint the origin of the time bubble.
He concludes that the bubble was generated from somewhere within the Andromeda galaxy.
Thor spins his mystic hammer, Mjolnir, and teleports the entire group to that location.

What they find is a huge space station that is roughly the size of an entire galaxy.
It is generating its own gravity well and slowly absorbing the
celestial content of the universe into it, like an artificial black hole.
The FF and Death's Head venture into the metal canyons of the station, carefully
navigating around beams of light that are being drawn to it by the station's gravity pull.
The probability fields surrounding the time sled and Death's Head's
sky cycle keep them from falling deeper into the core of the station.

Without warning, a group of attackers emerge.
These are chronal variants of Kang the Conqueror.
The Kangs open fire on the heroes, and the heroes fight back with fist, flame and hammer.
Death's Head's probability field gets damaged and he is forced to return to the 82nd century.
The Human Torch has had enough of this nonsense and he unleashes the
full power of one of his nova blasts upon one of the Kangs, incinerating him.
Reed is shocked. He thinks that Johnny has gone insane.

The Human Torch takes off towards the core of the station and the FF try to follow him.

The Fantastic Four try to chase after Johnny and catch him before he fully enters the system's core.
It is at this time, that the Fantastic Four finally realize the true culprit behind the artificial gravity well.
It is the planet devouring cosmic entity known as Galactus!

Good write up on Ms Ventura...
    http://peerlesspower.blogspot.com/20...ember.html?m=1

Reading those issues of FF when Sharon was a member of the team led by Thing was intense at the time. I still say Englehart was ahead of his time with the character storyline concept but was likely hindered by the Comics Code Authority parameters. This was adult stuff. A rape survivor struggling with PTSD and suicidal tendencies that experiences trauma piled upon trauma. This was Jessica Jones territory decades before Alias was published!

Sharon Ventura deserves a comeback and a rebranding.
Call her Brickhouse (old slang from the 70s song for a sturdily build powerful commanding sexy woman -“built like an amazon”) . Also give her transformation: She starts out human looking but as she exerts to higher levels she bricks up until she maxed out in “She-Thing” form.
A bit old school but lots to play with there.

    Yes please.

It would be awesome if she learned to control her transformations and would explain how she’s gone to and from the various different She-Thing looks.

There was also a Monstrous She-Thing form, where Sharon looked like a Dinosaur with a tiny tuft of red hair atop. I believe that was her largest, strongest and most powerful form.

    Fantastic Four #339 Apr 1990
    "Visit to a Large Empire!"
In the heart of the Time Bubble, the Fantastic Four have discovered
that it is caused by Galactus trying to consume the entire universe!
They soon find their Time-Sled being sucked into the massive maw of the device feeding Galactus.
Loose from the ship is the Human Torch, whom Reed manages
to pull back aboard before he can be drawn into the black hole.
Almost pulled into the hole, the Fantastic Four and their allies Thor and Iron Man struggle to get free.
Ultimately they manage to free themselves when Thor and Iron Man channel their weapons power
into the Time-Sled, giving them enough thrust to blast free from the pull of the black hole.
However they are far from safe, their activities have attracted the
attention of the mysterious beings who begin to monitor their activities.
Also, Sue checks on her brother who seems to be all right,
unaware that he's actually been possessed by the mind of Nebula,
who is seeking to take control of the powerful Celestial weapon said to be hidden within the Time Bubble.
However, Sue suspects that there is something wrong with her brother, and Reed suggests that she keep an eye on him.

Free from the danger, the Fantastic Four and their allies begin putting their heads together
to try and figure out how they can destroy Galactus before he consumes the entire universe.
Ms. Marvel comes up with a solution: Using the weapons of the Shi'ar.
Remembering how in their own time that the Shi'ar are in the midst of a civil war,
she suspects that they would have the sufficient firepower to destroy Galactus.

Without further delay, Thor teleports them to the Shi'ar galaxy.
There they arrive among massive warships about to engage in battle.
Because they are out of synch with time within the Time Bubble, everything appears to be motionless,
allowing the Fantastic Four to travel unseen among the massive galactic battalion.
They come to a planet that has massive weapons dumps and they begin loading up explosives that will be
flown out in massive ships and directed at the massive weapon that is using Galactus to consume the universe.

However their work does not go unnoticed as this eras Gladiator
is able to observe the Fantastic Four and their friends working thanks to his Hyper-Vision.
Able to vibrate in synch with them, he attacks.
This leads to an all out brawl between Thor and Gladiator

that is suddenly stopped by Sharon who points out that they are battling it out in the
middle of live explosives and they could all be annihilated if a stray blast sets them off.
With a temporary truce called, Reed explains what they are doing.
After Gladiator uses his Hyper-Vision to confirm Reed's claims, he agrees to help them end the menace of Galactus.
Gladiator leads them all to a massive weapons pit that he offers them to use,
even at the risk of leaving the Shi'ar with less weapons to defend themselves.
Gladiator insists that they are taken as preventing the destruction of the universe which overrides the needs of the empire.

As they are preparing, Nebula -- using Johnny's body -- questions why Gladiator never overthrew his emperor and took over.
This line of questioning does not impress Gladiator who says he is a loyal servant and suggests the Torch reunite with his teammates.
Not seeing a usable ally in Gladiator, Nebula uses Johnny's flame powers to damage his ship.
Soon enough, the Fantastic Four and their allies get the weapons pits into the air,
and Thor uses his powers to teleport them to the massive fleet of destruction at the massive weapon in space.

Having been monitoring events from their domain, the observers decides it is time to intervene in what is happening.
Back on the future Earth, a bolt of energy suddenly strikes the Mount Diablo mountain range of California, decimating the area.
From the rubble rises the Black Celestial,

finally awake and ready to carry out his intended mission.
