a bunch of comic book writers (including a few marvel writers) are talking about why there's no Blade book right now.

Rob Williams (writer of Judge Dredd)
Do Marvel publish a Blade comic?
    If not, why not?
I mean, I don't care that much, but it feels like they should.

Andy Diggle (writer of green arrow, daredevil, bunch of other stuff)
I quit DD to write Blade and then they pulled the plug. Fun times.

Rich Johnston (head writer at bleeding cool)
    It does seem rather cursed
    https://twitter.com/richjohnston/sta...65630542217216

Tim Seeley (writer of hack/slash, was supposed to write Blade)
    I tried man
    https://twitter.com/HackinTimSeeley/...81334821699589

Jim Zub (agents of wakanda, empyre: avengers)
    I am ready ANY TIME.
I literally have the pitch good to GO.
    Action, horror, monsters, and madness.

I poked + prodded for a while trying to get it going. Closest I got was writing a 1-page Blade joke page in Marvel Comics #1000.

Here's hoping it still happens at some point.

There's a few more. This makes is all the more frustrating. I don't get what it is. They've throw out solo books for just about everyone since they gave Blade another shot at a solo.

I'm currently wanting a Blade & Dr. Voodoo ongoing book. There have almost never been any black-hero pair team-up ongoing books, have there?

Hell, I'd settle for a Doctor Voodoo book. I love the character so much I'd script the series for free, hear that Marvel?

It's a crime how underutilized Doc Voodoo is, the same goes for Blade these days.

truth. dr. voodoo is so interesting...so much could be done by expanding that world instead of just making him dr. strange-lite

21st century-wise, Blade really should be one of those books which should always be in publication as an ongoing solo.

I mean compare his number of books to Moon Knight.

Or even Morbius. Like Blade is objectively more popular than him, but he's had about 2 or 3 solos since Blade last had one.

I’m not too familiar with Voodoo. But I keep a picture of him in my photos just cause he looks like a beast.

They were working together in Hudlin's iconic Black Panther run before they teamed up with Luke Cage, Black Panther and Monica Rambeau to take down some vampires.

Outside of being in some team-up fights with other heroes against supernatural baddies I don't think they've had any other memorable interactions in other stories. Even in Damnation I'm not sure they interacted that much.

Damnation's got to be the most recent interaction right?

my father is haitian, so i've done a lot of learning about it the last few years. it's such a fascinating religion with so much depth.

crescent city blues! that's probably their biggest team up and probably why hudlin put them together in New Orleans

Also the Midnight Sons holding off the Ghost Rider amped Avengers and half of hell is such an underrated feat for that team. They were fighting off Captain Marvel and Thor, who are already cosmic, plus every other hero powered up with spirits of vengeance.
