exactly! that's that revolutionary Duke shining through, unapologetic, to the point, and commanding of authority. I like that Tony Pattick made a point of emphasizing that Duke isn't fighting for Batman's, and how Gotham ain't his, he's fight for HIS home, his territory and he shares that fight with the people. that's why I keep saying, Duke's suit needs to be redesigned to focus more on who Duke is but that's a discussion for another day

But that is a sweet ending, though. It really does feel like Tony Patrick was course-correcting Duke/The Signal after his time under Bryan Edward Hill's pen.

Tony Patrick, like Tynion, directly feels like he's a student of Snyder's school of storytelling, where he knows how to play ball (good or bad) and build off these characters. I like that you can kinda get a feel Snyder's influence in these writers coming out of his workshops, we definitely need more people like that who know how to effectively use continuity to enhance their story. That was Hill's issue with Duke (and i feel bad shitting on Hill so much because i like his other work) he never got his Duke to feel like he was in continuity with the character we'd followed up to that point. No he was in the original white knight, in that universe I believe he’s a former police officer turned neighborhood social worker(I’m not sure it’s the right word, he represents the poorer neighborhoods of Gotham that the rich take advantage of). Originally Posted by Restingvoice

Nah. This older, Luke Cage-esque Duke Thomas has been a character in the White Knight-verse for awhile now. As lemonpeace mentioned, he's not a bad character, but not really Duke, if that makes any sense.
