Thanks for sharing these. Truly beautiful work that gets at the heart of why Steve Rogers himself, at least when written well, is an admirable character. And yes, I would also agree that's the best speech he's given since ASM 537.

“Rogers—to dip into movie lore once more—was the George Bailey of super heroes: a simple, honest man of inherent decency, who always struggled to do the right thing—no matter how difficult it was. He wasn’t concerned with ideologies or the politics of the moment. He was concerned with the American Dream. He believed, to the core of his being, in what America could be. Rogers was certainly well aware of the many times the United States had failed to live up to its own ideals—and those failures disheartened him—but he never gave up believing because his faith and hope weren’t invested in any elected official or political party. They were invested in the spiritual core of America: something deep and true and unchanging that lay beneath world affairs and shifting political currents.

To my mind, Captain America’s greatest power wasn’t the strength he gained from the super-soldier formula: it was the depth of his compassion, his caring. His belief in the revolutionary power of simple human decency.”

No problem. It was a good day for it, I agree. Needed even. I say that because the Jack Kirby Museum post drew the ire of the CG’s in their mentions and I can’t help but feel that anything that gets that terrible group riled is something worth posting.

Today’s Marvel Snapshots Captain America was incredible. Powerful, poignant and completely relevant. And Steve’s speech at the end? Haven’t been that moved since his speech in Amazing Spider-Man #537. I got chills. A must read! Cannot recommend it enough!

Agreed. It was nice seeing the artwork of Ramon Perez has greatly improved in the last few years.
