Ah i agree with purplevit that's one I would have included if I had thought of it at the time. Manipulation and planning and stuff is definitely something I love when they write like that rather than Remy just reacting. Rey might not be the smartest or brightest which is fine but he is very cunning and resourceful and clever. I would love to see more of that

Ps in terms of location I don't think it's actually accurate because I know my own votes I did counted but the marker is nowhere near my actual location lol

Also I'm going to include the link to the poll again to see if anyone else wants to join in the poll fun. Remember you can only choose 9 total. And you can choose the second "other" option to add things you didn't see on this list

I know, right?! I LOVE that Gambit's past is shrouded in mystery, but I'm also curious about certain aspects of his past.

For example: I was very intrigued when Creed revealed his first meeting with Remy
(One of the few bright spots of the post-Claremont era, I might add):

Man, Kubert really did draw a great Gambit. That whole page is so cool, between the coloring and the architecture

That's what I thought. Thank you for confirming. I'd love to see that team again since it was so short******d. Also found it very interesting that Remy was leader of that team since arguably all of them are more traditionally considered to be X-Men leaders so that was a nice twist.

    Definitely a great issue!

    Gambit fans, I guess Uncanny X-Men #266 came out 30 years ago today on June 19, 1990 - http://www.mikesamazingworld.com/mik...?comicid=50239

It's hard to believe that Gambit is 30 years now! Well actually a little older since X-Men Annual 14 came out at the end of May, but #266 is what I consider his true first appearance and what should be celebrated.

Wow. I know that Gambit is considered "young" among other comic superheroes but it's still crazy to think that he's been around that long at this point

    Not yet.
Annual 14 is Gambit's cameo and will be on july.
First appearence is August 15, 1990 The Uncanny X-Men #266: Gambit (First Appearance of Gambit).

So his 30th anniversary is on July or August.

The August release date for 266 is actually a common misconception. The "LATE AUG" on the cover for Uncanny X-Men is just the issue's "cover date" - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cover_date

The cover date for comics was generally two months after the actual in store release date. Back when unsold comics could be returned to the publisher the cover date was used to give the comic a bit more shelf life. Really the cover date was when retailers would pull the comic from the shelf. Even now that unsold comics can not be returned, Marvel still for some reason uses a "cover date" on the inside of a comic in the indicia. We may remember and can look up that say Rogue and Gambit #1 came out on January 3, 2018, but if you pick up your issue and look at its indicia, you will see the date March 2018.

So Gambit's real time 30th anniversary was back in May if you go by Annual 14 and yesterday if you go by 266.

    X-Men Annual 14 cover date(1990) and release date(May 29, 1990)-

Yep, makes me feel my age that a character I fell in love with as kid around when he first came on the scene has turned 30. The time just flew by.

Oh, thank you for detailed info!

I wanted to make fanart for his 30th anniversary so probably will make it on July or August.

    Thanks!

The date thing would so confuse my poor mother and she would end up buying me the same comic twice. It rather confused me too, but I remembered the covers, which she never did.

No problem! I am pretty detail oriented and have always found stuff like that interesting.

I can't wait to see it. I'm sure it will be great, and sadly I am sure Marvel has no plans to mark the occasion in any way.

That is too funny! I wonder how many other people had that kind of thing happen to them.

Anyone ever read X-men and Captain Universe? I can't say it's amazingly written and the characters seem a bit off but there's a nice little Gambit story in there. And I thought the premise of the book was cool as well
