Zee and Bruce...one of my favorite underrated and low-key DC ships.

Agreed. That was an interesting relationship the way Dini did it.

If you want to pick up something for younger readers, there is a book out now called 'Zatanna and the House of Secrets':

Dini's Zatanna is the best Zatanna, IMO.

I don't usually care for hero/hero pairings but I buy these two having a relationship more than the heroines they try to give a crush on Batman or Zatanna and Constantine.

I like the way Dini handled it and I don't think he gets enough credit for the work he did with the character. He did his best to set up Zatanna as a big hero in her own right; basing her in San Francisco, giving her a supporting cast of stage hands, focusing on her relationship with Zachary Zatara (making her one of the few female heroes with a male side kick) and the stories which were a mix of crime, magic and stage performances. Some of his plots were meh but I think his characterizations were always on point. I yearn for the day the character has her own spotlight again.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I like her JLD movie costume - at least as a crime-fighting costume.

I wish we had gotten a moment like this in JLD: AW.

I was disappointed they teased us by showing her classic look at the beginning and then she never wore it again.

Gave her a nice rogues gallery too.

What's funny is that she had a small rogues gallery when she was first introduced in 'Zatanna's Search' including an arch nemesis called 'Allura' who appeared all of three times before disappearing into limbo from 70's till now. A lot of them are goofy Silver Age arch types but I would like to see somebody take a crack at trying to update those characters.

I thought some would make decent JLD villains for the current book.

ZATANNA 1.jpgI wish DC would give her a costume again and leave the fishnets for when she's on stage I saw this costume that she use to wear ages ago n I kinda like the hair in a pony tail it's cute.

If she's not going to wear the classic look, I've always seen this as the best alternative:
