Seeing all this British stuff, I can't help thinking of the Clash song "London's Calling" and the Pet Shop Boys song "West End Girls" (Me, I was 14 when "London's Calling" came out and 19 when "West End Girls" came out.)

I’m guessing this is a British joke I don’t understand?

TBH, I'd prefer she be in control when she's feeling 100% happy and well, but lose it the more stress she's under. Take away her power issue completely and a lot of the empathy of her character goes. To keep her interesting and relevant, her powers should be more analogous to management of a long-term chronic (mental) health condition.
I like that way of thinking about it. That’s more or less what I thought of KT take on her powers, whic I also liked (minus the long rand absorption, that’s not really needed.)

Ya'll are a bunch of nuts and I love ya fer it.

(I love how this thread is mostly about fire escapes in the UK)

Rogue looks absolutely gorgeous in these previews. I'm excited for an issue again!

Just read it.. Still solid not spectacular book. I got to sit down and read all issues I have to see I want to keep getting this book. It is not a bad book but I think when it has nice exit point it might be off my pull list.

Yeah. I really want to like it, because it looks beautiful and I’ve been following Captain Britain for decades but it’s not quite hitting the mark for me and I don’t really know why.
I think I’ll do a re-read too and maybe give it one more issue to see if it all hangs together.
I can’t afford to keep buying books hoping they’ll score.

I like it but I don't like enough to get monthly. This something I would pick up in trade at some point I mean if I didn't start buying the series already. It is not bad but it has too much generic comic book moments and it feels like it trying to squeezing so many things and the storylines are just "okay".

I like the characters like Betsy,Rogue, Jubilee and Gambit, I generally like the story, I like the art but it is not coming all together enough for me and when I read stuff like X-men issue 4 or all of Percy X-force run the book is missing that "it factor" that those books have for me. I don't think it is utilizing the Krakoa/Dawn of X set up really well I guess right now I am more in to that right now and this feels like a book that could be put out in any era. I am more patient than most fans if you can give me a wow moment book once in a while like X-men issue 4 I will stick around read it as a monthly book instead of trade waiting. But this far I don't see the issue that I could put in another fans hand and it would wow them.

So, that was... unexpected. Rogue was hysterical, though.

    ETA: Hysterically entertaining, that is.

For all my complaining and venting about this series I do enjoy it. Issue 5 was good. Rdy to see the next issue.
I only continue to read X-books because I don't spend any money on it.

Why was everyone so shocked at that? That's literally how her powers work.

Lol at Betsy's comment about Gambit.

Yeah, her getting someone else's powers is no surprise. What is surprising is that spoilers:
she debuted a new costume in this issue.

And I don't understand the whole dog thing. But I'll wait for the spoilers thread to discuss that.
