bc its highly unlikely that most of the characters would be the same age. Statisticaly, it makes sense that there would be a range. We dont know how far apart these ages were anyway. Bobby for all we know could be 2 months shy of his 14th birthday when he was introduced. FYI Doug and Kitty werent classmates. She went to Xavier's School whereas he was enrolled in the local private school. Her age doesnt really inform what his was

It was said multiple times than Rahne was the youngest of the group. I think that scan of number 2 was an error between Roberto and Rahne.

It can't be wrong on two issues for Rahne when she was mentioned as 14, one is New Mutants graphic novel and the other is New Mutants #2.
It could be Roberto's age was 14 instead and Rahne was several months younger.
Maybe the artist made a boo-boo on Roberto's age?
How can it be a retcon if it was written by the same writer just a few months apart and it was mentioned twice not once.
The more logical explanation is that the artist got Roberto's age wrong in the screen.
Is there any other proofs of Roberto's age other than the screen?
I dont think there are any other proof that Roberto were the youngest member. Another scan from the xavier archives

It looks like Chris really meant her to be the youngest member but since she was mentioned in Graphic Novel and New Mutants #2 to be 14, then we must correct Roberto's age to be 14 instead.
After all, the New Mutants Graphic Novel is the most important debut issue and can't have any errors in it, don't you all agree?
Anyway, the data on that screen were entered by their enemies (and not someone who know them well) so they could have got Roberto's age wrong.

The fact that both Xavier and Emma just found out that Doug was a mutant shows that his power just manifested for them to detect.
I doubt Doug is the same age or older than Dani who is 15 and Rahne's the youngest. It's more likely that he's also 14 which is the age that most mutant powers first developed.
Remember, Chris Claremont used the oldest New Mutants as the co-leaders. Doug wasn't chosen as one.

Um no. The X-gene primarily activates at puberty but there is no rule that it happens at age 14. Cannonball, Kitty, Karma and Dani all contradict this statement. Not to mention there are plenty of mutants with an active X-gene at birth (Madrox, Nightcrawler, Beast, Gambit), those with one by pre-school (Franklin Richards, Leech, Artie) and others by 10 (Jean Grey, Manon & Maxine, St. Croix twins, X-23). Your statement is absolutely false
