Karma is the New Mutants' potential Emma Frost if the writer wrote her well. The new writers still make her look weak as if she can't control certain people's minds like in her debut. We all know that mutants powers do grow with age and experience.

Didn't Emma Frost train Karma before? Can anyone post that screenshot?

Remember in Zeb Wells run, she managed to mind control the whole New Mutants team so she's potentially the most powerful. Win the fight without even lifting a finger.

I can't find the image but this is a close one when Doug beat all the other New Mutants except Karma. Then Karma beat Doug by controlling the whole team.



That's why new writers have to dumb down her power in order for the rest of the team to shine.

I so wanted Karma to come back from working for 'Uncle Nguyen' with all sorts of mad ninja skills, and a new hardass attitude, and a faster-and-dirty technique where she uses her mind control powers to short-circuit someone *else's* control of their own body (to shut them down much faster than her normal total control technique, which takes a lot more concentration and focus from her), but then Betsy Braddock got Asianed up and drank her milkshake all up. Sigh.

Now I wonder if something could come from her mysterious importance to the Norse fates, perhaps her having some unknown destiny of importance to those Asgardian seers?

And maybe some development on whether or not Leong and Nya are ever going to grow up and become Template, as the Wildways foreshadowed...

Oh wow, pretty much exactly! She wouldn't even have been bodyswapped into an Asian ninja, since she already was one, and could learn the skills working for her crimelord uncle to be the other.

It would have made to sense.. Being a primary psionic controller would have been something different than pure telepathy.. Like being able to be the strongest at mind control but not powerful as Prof X or Jean or Emma at other things like reading minds etc make sense.. It would have been a great story arc also including her connection to Wolverine .. and being a big sis to Jubilee would also been nice..

It's kinda funny how perfectly Psylocke's 'psychic knife' works as a quick-and-dirty version of Shan's power to override someone's else's control, by just temporarily shorting out their *own* control of their mind and body, but stopping short of giving *her* control (which would logically take more concentration on her part, and be harder to do while dodging punches and throwing kicks). It would make her 'hand to temples, okay, I win' power much more dynamic and interesting, IMO.

And, technically, it could still happen, in a different sense (not the Karma-becomes-Kwannon thing, but Karma-upgrades-her-powers-thing). She could upgrade to doing that exact thing, but at a range (and without the psychic knife or psychic arrows or psychic shotgun imagery used by Psylocke, Moonstar or QQ, since that's getting old and stale at this point), not at hand to hand range, but to someone in visual range, shutting them off like a light, and it still being easier and faster and less distracting than actually trying to seize total control of them.

I mean, I know I came up with an elaborate plot in order to get the Braddock story to tangle up with Coy Manh's, but you just as easily have Wolverine and Jubilee discover that Lady Mandarin is Shan. Nothing changes, except her relationships with men and the trips to visit Excalibur/MarvelUK. And presto! You have a legitimate, lesbian, New Mutant Asian badass in the 1990s Blue Team of X-Men.

Elizabeth could've appeared ANYWHERE else. Maybe join the Avengers in place of Sersi AND Black Knight, and be their psychic/mutant representation. She could wear a cape and date Hercules, stay a telepath, and be a better bridge between X- and A- worlds.

yes, they should be older than the m twins by a year or two.. I would think M twins, Karma siblings and resurrected grey twins and those lil french twins along with Desmond aka kid broccoli could have a few adventures.
