Karma was searching for her siblings after she left in #54. She appeared later in a few issues of Wolverine.

    Why are they lame?

Rictor is now a member of Excalibur. Skid was the New Mutant's invisible girl (counterpart of FF)

Rusty's power is too similar to Magma and is sort of redundant. Boom-Boom power is sort of firepower?

because they were pretty much useless characters who served no purpose. They were useless in the orginal X-factor book, and except for Boom-Boom, were largely responsible for the decline of the orginal New Mutants book because they didn't belong in it.

Rusty had *NOTHING* in common with Magma, powerwise or in any other manner. If anything Rusty was a poor copy of a wussed-out teenaged Scott Summers

Shadow King had nothing to do with Karma possessing Magik (that was her being able to slip past illyana's defenses because of Karma's ordeals) in Asgard or with Xavier giving her a power boost later on.

Yeah, but because of her background, she fit in better than Rictor,Skids or Rusty, who really had nothing in common with them.

The pic I posted is based on a specific timeframe of the original New Mutants run when Karma and Magma weren't on the team anymore and the X-Terminators were slowly being folded in

Did I Shadow Kind had anything to do her succeeding? When Shadow King was possessing Karma through the entire Fat Karma arc he boosted her powers tremendously, and even with that Karma couldn't possess Magik without tremendous strain. It was the plot point that allowed there to be a plot so that there'd be any New Mutants still fighting back after 2 issues. In Magik's own words at the time, she wasn't immune, but Karma had to work much harder to possess her. In Asgard Karma possessed her doppleganger which was the Enchantress' puppet, and later had to strain very hard to possess her when she was under Loki's control.

Because they had no personality and were generic cutouts outside of Boom Boom. They lacked the spunk and development that the NMs got

I think it's due to Louise Simonson's poor writing rather than the character themselves.

Her stories were damn boring except for Inferno saga when Magik reverted into a child storyline.

I wish a writer could give Karma cooler moments and develop her powers more.
Even in the teambooks she's part of, it seems like she doesn't get the same treatment as some of her teammates.

Now that Betsy is no longer asian because she's in her original body, writers could push her more.

i don't even know if Betsy still using telepathy, she seems more like a classic hero now.

Yeah, Karma has really gotten the short end of the stick, of the O5 New Mutants.

It's kind of amazing how well Magik has done, for a second-generation New Mutant. She's flat out surpassed the entire first generation.

And yeah, that third generation, Rictor, Skids, Rusty and Boom-Boom, kinda rough. Although Rictor and Boom-Boom have done better than Rusty and Skids. Rusty's one of the few dead mutants I haven't seen much clamoring for to be resurrected, and it's not even that he's particularly hated, just, eh.

(He'd have to compete for 'fire-guy' attention with at least two superfluous Pyro's running around, Match, Neal Sharra, two or three Yashida siblings...)
