I agree that Carey dropped the ball a bit with the after-effects of gaining control, but he absolutely explored the reasons her powers were messed up. Danger and Xavier had to go deep into her mind to clear out the trauma and the psychic residue that was only apparent once all her past absorptions were gone. Thompson basically ignored that entire run. Carey's story felt like a natural progression of her powers whereas Thompson's felt like just another writer messing with her powers for the 50th time.

What I meant exactly! I am glad she regained control, but making her absortion long distance was just creating drama for drama's sake.

I agree, I do like that she finally gained control, she deserved a break.

I'd rather her not have the distance absorption, I like that she had to get in close for her powers to work. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets dropped entirely if it hasn't been already.
She's extremely formidable as it is, I don't think she needs a ranged attack as well.

Looks a bit too X-men Evo for my tastes. I'm not sure if she's supposed to b a teen in that picture or if she just look like one because of the sneakers.

Sigh...I miss Rogue in black and green.
I LOVELOVELOVE this...although I would go with the very unique style of her original boots rather than trainers, and keep the hair sleek and sexy but add her skunk stripe, front to back.

Im thinking along the same lines, I'm not sure making Rogue's absorbtion ability a distanced attack does any favors for a character that is most famously a brawler and had weaponized kissing her victims.

In her initial appearance, they seemed to have made Rogue much older with 2 white stripes on the side of her head instead of one down the middle as we all know her to have. At the time, I remember some people saying that she was "an old lady" . While Rogue looked older, she didn't look like an "old lady" from the pic above where she drained Cap.
