It is worth pointing out though, what happened with MJ isn't far fetched considering 616, 'cause there was that blood transfusion from ASM#10 that eventually led to Master Planner Trilogy, so the radioactive blood making him be radioactive and deadly to other people isn't far fetched, plus, the way Reign worded it, while jizz is included since Peter says mentioned every fluid is radioactive, and "loving me killed you!", the intention was most likely sweat though, which is, not as funny.

But regardless, this is one way of saying Peter fucked MJ to death.

It's also funny to think about, in 616, him "sharing toothbrushes" with MJ actually was beneficial to her since it slowed down her transformation into a Spider-Monster back in Spider-Island, and then we have RYV MJ surviving not only the radiation, but also Peter's third leg:

What I'm trying to say here is: Reign MJ is made of weak stuff



Either that or the "I don't care what happens to these people" one, which have similar meanings, stories which are too dark are eh, dark stories are colossally overrated 'cause "Muh drama", but if there's only drama, or just tragedy, or characters are too much assholes, it can reach a point where you just don't care about what's gonna happen next.

Oh, and the art sucked too lol.

My favorite is just their faces when the realization hits, is so funny (same when they realized that Otto's arm where dragging his corpse around).

Some stories seem more interesting to read about rather than actually read. Reign seems like one of those stories .

That part is nice, but again it falls in the "Lost Lenore" concept and that's pretty problematic in and of itself.

Still even a weak comic can have nice moments.

It's just that I prefer it when MJ is alive and an active presence. She's the bright optimistic center of the stories.

3) Of all the Marvel characters that could plausibly fit the mold of The Dark Knight Returns (Daredevil, The Punisher, Wolverine) you apply it instead to the essentally optimistic, charming, and positive world of Spider-Man. Another bad idea.

I remember hearing that DC did something like that, think it was making Nightwing being used in a story that's pretty much Born Again, which, makes no sense thematically to happen with him, and also doesn't make much sense in-universe 'cause every super-hero would go help him if they heard something bad happened... And if the story is really like that, really not fitting to happen with him lol.

SPIDER-MAN LIFE STORY did what Reign did better. It's the real "last Spider-Man story" in the mythos on the level of TDKR and Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?

Honestly, biggest problem with Life Story for me is that since it has to add some of the convoluted nonsense that happened in each era, it can be harder to follow what's going on, and I feel that happened with the last issue (Though it wasn't as bad as, say, issue#5), so that works against it significantly...

Nah, only Reign MJ got screwed over for being weak, the other two tend to be happy with Peter, guess 2/3 is good enough .

Mostly because the story is hardly ever talked about in a serious tone, despite how hard it tries to be serious, so in a casual conversation it sounds like a parody, and radioactive jizz certainly helps with this idea lol.

Good point, but it's still worth pointing out that Dick is a huge deal for Batfamily at least, so it'd look weirder for something like Born Again to happen to him, and Bruce not show up to at least try to find him at some point, unless it all happens in a too short time span.

But yeah, I don't even know what happened there besides "It's something like Born Again", so I can't talk too much about it, assuming it's even in the main universe, could be some what if, or even a fanfiction article I read on TV tropes.

What you guys think about Spiderman Reign?

I'm just going to say that I'm in the minority in that I really really like it.

The radioactive semen being the cause of MJ's death is weird and it certainly has its flaws.

But I for one found the story really compelling and memorable. It's not for everyone but it certainly worked for me.
