I hope Chamber awakens in space and uses his powers to fly himself and Mondo back to the ship. I think they both can survive being in space and they both have a lot of potential as far as powers.

Mondo is probably going to cause some problems since he has a Brood pheromone egg and a Krakoan flower stored inside of him.

So it seems heavily telegraphed that the Death Commandos are following the tradition of X-Book space teams being DC analogs, and that these guys are a disguised Suicide Squad. Unfortunately I know very little about DC characters and teams, and it turns out that Google is not my friend on this one because it just provides information overload. (One day a hero will come and tidy up Wikipedia and remove the extraneous nonsense).

So can anyone with better DC knowledge give me a run down, even if speculative of who they are analogues of? So far my knowledge only stretches to Warshot/Deadshot.

It's simple. Ilyanna grew up in a hellscape where the only viable sexual partners were demons of varying degrees of humanoid appearance. Vanilla boys and girls don't do shit for her, she likes weird. Not looking good for Jono's chastity in the long run.
