I question the explanation given the series is ending with low sales. But my mistake on the assumptions based solely off that. I’m glad KSD gets to finish the story she wants to tell at the very least and hopefully the resolution will be really awesome

I think AQUAMAN is ending moreso due to KSD finishing her run and DC shifting gears internally- not so much due to a lack of popularity.
I think he'll be back sooner than later, and I don't think youd have to change a whole lot. I'd like Arthur and Mera to be married and having adventures together, maybe with Andy too. I'd like to keep Callie (who better to babysit!) around and check in on the elder gods living in Amnesty Bay from time to time. I'd like Tula to have a strong place. More high adventure on the seas. While I'm bummed this run of Aquaman is coming to an end already, I like stories that are allowed to end naturally; KSD appears to be leaving it on her own terms and on a great note. I hope whatever comes next picks up on the things she was doing and keeps that fun pacing and more emotionally resonate characterization of this run. Baby Andy, The Seas Gods and refreshing new take on Aqualad are all great additions I don't wanna see ruined unnecessarily.

Aquaman will be back again. A 65 issue run is amazing, especially in today's modern publishing cycle even including how DC allows longer runs. I do believe the AT&T debacle is to blame vs sales or any other factor.
Aquaman as a character has long since been a "just talks to fish joke" of a character. He had a hit movie with a sequel coming.
