After New Mutants #5, I think it's clear that Illyana's sexuality is...flexible. She has shown some same-sex leanings as early as the Christ Claremont era, but it was never too overt. I think the recent comics have cleared things up a bit. I wouldn't go so far as to call her pansexual, but I think it's clear that she's not exclusively heterosexual at this point.

Ditto. She made some flirty comments from time to time (quite a lot, IIRC), and had chemistry with Kitty, at times, but seemed 100% not interested in actually playing any of those reindeer games, with any gender.

The scene in the comic was being played for laughs, I doubt anyone reading would think there was any chance she wasn't going to kick their ass and f%@*& instead. Trying to make any determinations from it is absurd levels of reaching. She may be pansexual or asexual or anything between, it hasn't been determined.

It’s hilarious how Guggs realized after the fact how queercoded Gold #30 was and had to do an entire scene later on where the two explicitly state to one another they are like SISTERS.

All representation, positive or otherwise, is made to gain attention from an audience. We know that already. A pan person shouldn’t have to wait to be represented just because it’s a “woke bandwagon”

I always thought she was asexual to be honest.
That works for me, there is little representation for asexuals and to be honest after a while romantic relationships become a drama.
But if she becomes pansexual or just lesbian is still good.
