Not really because he doesn't care much for anyone else but himself.
Rebels and Clone wars gave him more range as a person but wasn't able to redeem him. He could care about others but not enough to put others before him etc.
Part of it was he grew up under Palpatine and could be seen as an abused child that became an abuser himself.
Trying to redeem Darth Maul would only ruin the character.
I think what makes Maul appealing is his single-minded devotion to his objectives. He doesn't care about anything else. Good or evil--that's irrelevant to him, IMO. If you get in his way, he'll cut you down, end of story and nothing personal.
"Ignore them. They're nothing but a bunch of basement dwellers who spend all day whining on the 'net. Not a single open-minded one in the bunch."

Maul would've worked fine since it's not like he has to be one of the good guys. A redemption arc doesn't always have to amount to a character necessarily being on your side, it just means they have to do the right thing when needed which Rebels kind of did.

A few of the old EU Clone Wars eras novels tried a similar thing with Dooku.

Maul is not a character in need of redemption. He always did things that would benefit and cared little about who he hurt. At best he could be a wildcard but never a true blown good guy.
