Depends on who the editors were. If they were the main ones doing Spidey's books-that meant NW got lumped in.
Or they were included since Spidey was still popular among kids/teen-so toss them in.
Quality of story does not matter when folks take issue with the diversity of the roster. Like we saw from a certain group and even store owners who threw fits about "diverse" books yet could never COMMENT on story content. They had great art, smart writing, which made for interesting characters; and more diversity didn’t keep subsequent NW books from being mediocre. They mostly had good art, but the writing was uninspired, and the characters both new and veterans came off boring as a result.
That'll be easy to check. Let's see...
They did NOT have the same editor. New Warriors was edited by Tom Brevoort, Amazing Spider-Man by Danny Fingeroth, and Spectacular Spider-Man by Eric Fein! Seems like there was no proper Spider Office at all at the time, despite the trade dress branding!

Awww! Baby!
Fun fact: bats are more closely related to primates than rodents. I don't know why, that just makes them more cute.
But seriously, isn't Vampire By Night a normal vampire? Like, a werewolf...vampire, but still a vampire effected by the normal vampire curse.

The other heroes there don't have their own movies or cartoons either, though they have appeared in ensemble ones.
