Might as well cancel it now; it's already dead.

I watched the whole trailer waiting for the other shoe to drop, but then bust out laughing when I realized it was serious.

"Snowflake"? "Safespace"? Lord...they had to be laughing as they were pitched this, and decided to humor him, just to see the internet reaction. The only reason I can think of.

Lol, you can even hear the author himself holding in his laughter when saying "Snowflake and Safespace" as his gaze shifts off the camera.

Liked some of the original NW stuff, but this looks like a laughable pile of poop. Just light it on fire and be done with it. The art looks like crap also.

They're holding back. There's gotta be an additional character named "Stunningly Brave".

Trailblazer and B Negative are okay concepts but the other three reek of old man trying to be hip.

    SMH-Lad?

Like Hindsight Lad, he’ll go over the missions once they’re done, but w. the modern twist of not even offering unsolicited advice, just shaking his head in exasperation.

It is so absurd that you can neither be able to suspend your disbelief.
Anyway I don't thin it will be a problem: when I have seen the trailer on the Youtube Marvel Channel, there were more than 8,000 dislike and about 1,500 like, so I think this book will not last for long.
    It's a miniseries right?

I don't know. The basic idea of Snowflake could be used. It's just an ice based character.

Does our reality determine our fiction or does our fiction determine our reality?

Whenever the question comes up about who some mysterious person is or who is behind something the answer will always be Frank Stallone.

I think there was a Stunningly Brave character back in the Seventies who was a homosexual Native American.

Well, they ain't wrong - This idea is laughably stupid enough to justify the mockery.

And frankly, years from now, the cultural commentary about what the hell was going through the heads of whoever greenlit this nonsense is probably going to be way more interesting then the book itself - at least, in the "what the f#$k were you smoking" sense.

I'm just amused that naming characters 'Snowflake' and 'Safespace' has already turned self-referential and prophetic.

They need some characters named 'Triggered,' 'Woke,' 'Antifa' and 'SJW' to get all the crazies after them. Probably get some coverage on Hannity, maybe even a tweet from the White House, really bring the free press.

I'm glad to see someone finally doing a computer based character with Screentime. With how popular tablets and apps are nowadays I'm surprised this wasn't done sooner.

these characters need to be fast tracked into some cartoon episodes. Perhaps a spinoff show of their own as well.

Part of the problem is that the team is functionally stuck at fixed point and never really been able to progressed past it, leaving very little room for any of them to develop as a team let alone individuals. Speedball, and to some degree Justice, are stuck in the consequences of the Stamford Incident that led to the first Civil War and tarnished the New Warriors as a whole.

Night Thrasher only came back relatively recently and Marvel really hasn't bothered to use him at all since then so he's never even had the chance to evolve beyond what he was the last time we saw him, and I imagine that Marvel is just going to roll all the drama of the Stamford Incident over onto him like they're doing the rest of the team just because it's easy and how they want to define the New Warriors. The same could pretty much be said about Namorita, haven't seen all that much of her since Rich brought her back before the Thanos Imperative kicked off.

Ironically Silhouette seems to been doing rather well given how much she's popped up in the last year or so but it's been by putting distance from the New Warriors and appearing as part of Shuri and/or Ironheart's entourage. And honestly I think that right there is the answer to the problem of the New Warriors, the team needs to evolve in a way that it hasn't been allowed to which entails letting its members develop as individuals independent of the team. They've already attempted this a couple of times with Darkhawk, Scarlet Spider, and Speedball/Penance to varying degrees of success/failure.
The team could work but they have to be given the chance to grow past what they presently are.

I personally think it would be better for marvel to explore developing these characters outside of their affiliation with the New Warriors, whether it be by giving them their own ongoing mini or solo series or by having them regularly appear in other comics in reoccurring or supporting roles. Think of how much more developed Night Thrasher could have been if he'd been allowed to stay with the Ultimates after they phased him out of Contest of Champions, or if Darkhawk was actually allowed to join the Guardians of the Galaxy.
I've been rather outspoken in my opinion that the New Warriors should take a page out of Alpha Flight and just relocate to space with the likes of Nova and Darkhawk, as is it would be a better alternative to Marvel turning them into the Social Justice New Warriors which is honestly the vibe I've been getting from all the promotional material I've been seeing (and don't get me started on those cringy new recruits)

    Great points I agree
