Default How do we feel about data pages?

I feel like it is a cheap way to boost pages while justifying the price hikes. I certainly feel robbed of gorgeous comic art. What do you think?

Data pages are easily the best part.

I like them. They’re an easy way for background information and exposition dumping without clogging down the story.

I like them too. Some writers don't utilize them very well, but for the one's that do like Hickman and Ewing, it's pretty entertaining.

They haven't upped prices because of data pages though, have they? At worst it's just extra content

Never mind that Marvel have never once seemed like they felt the slightest need to actually justify raising prices.

I just think that sometimes it feels like a writer feels like they HAVE to write one even when they don't have an idea for it.

    Otherwise, they're fine at worst.

Zeb Wells can get pretty clever w. them, too...:

Like Husk said though, they’re a good way to provide background info and exposition.
Even at their most basic they serve a purpose.

Generally not a huge fan, though it depends entirely upon its use. If it's an in story item - a map, a grocery list, an e-mail - that the characters would use, then I like them a lot. If it's a chart or a paragraph of prose aimed to the reader, then I greatly dislike it. It totally takes me out of the story. I could do with less data pages, like only 1 per issue and wish they weren't a requirement.

Love them, wish they were more widespread. They beat the hell out of exposition monologues.

Sometimes I like them and they're insightful and sometimes they're forgettable and dull.

I really like them. Especially when there is a payoff like we saw with Storm and the lady writing about the Marauders for the US government.
    You brought back Wolverine

This. I generally have no issue with them. But I skim the first few sentences, and unless it's addressing something I could care about, I just scroll passed.

I like them. Not every writer uses them wisely and/or effectively but I like them.

    I enjoy most of them.
