Both of those require too much forethought. She's literally cased in... METAL. That's it. Snyder's DC cosmic work has largely been very superficial and I see no reason to suspect it's a corporate thing or trying to give her a One Million situation by turning her gold. That's too on the nose. It's just because the book's called Metal and he practically fetishized the concept between this and the last volume.
So she's metal. Stop thinking about it, crank up the decibels and throw up some horns because that's pretty much all that this book seems to want to do. Talk in platitudes about Story^TM and Truth^TM while looking like an 80s thrash metal album cover, but otherwise offer nothing. Each issue is just The Batman Who Sucks doing the same thing while the heroes look around like lemmings to think of where they can find a mcguffin that has a higher item level than the big bad. It's really generic superhero storytelling at kind of its nadir, frankly. Snyder is better than this, but this and his Justice League run have to be the weakest slow burn I've seen in a long time.
Scott seems like one of the most decent dudes in comics, so I don't enjoy shitting on his work, but he really dropped the ball.
