    Lightbulb Thunderbolts Appreciation 2020

The next thread for the modern Marvel classic. For the original Busiek run, the New Thunderbolts, Warren Ellis's Osborn-led squad in the era after Civil War, the Luke Cage era, the all-too-brief Bucky era, and all the others in between.

(Just not the Red Hulk version)

Awesome! Helmut is still the best leader the T-Bolts ever had.

sure. but Clint actually got them to work together; mostly by being so unpredictable that they were worried he would get them killed.

We need a Tbolts ongoing ASAP.

Thanks for the reminder. Zemo may have given them the limelight, but Clint was the one who kept them there.

Yeah, I feel we're overdue for a new Thunderbolts book.

I wonder what the lineup and premise would be? I had this idea in the past that they'd be led by the Superior Octopus and start up in San Francisco... but of course that got undone because status quo is god.

He already had Skein. A Thunderbolted Night Shift would be cool.

Ooh, yeah, but Skein, and perhaps Shroud and Dansen Macabre are probably the only ones that I'd want to see again.

Seeing that cover makes me miss Mark Bagley's sleek colorful character designs and dynamic poses. Love it. So clear and well-lit, very 'superhero-y.'

Skein would have received an invite to Krakoa.

I like comics where Zemo gets punched in the face.

I don't like comics where Zemo doesn't get punched in the face.

Agree with you about Skein. And, also Jack Russell. Any team with a werewolf as a member is always worth reading.

Agreed. Bagley's Hawkeye is still my all-time favorite:

Just wondering, just how massive was the Thunderbolts are the Masters of Evil twist back in 1997? I wasn't even three when the first issue came out, so obviously I can't say, but reading it now it's easy to see the foreshadowing, but only because I already know how it goes.

Anyone have any memory of how big it was back then?
