Default Noh.Varr joins the Guardians of the Galaxy in Al Ewing's relaunch

And Rocket Raccoon has a good taste in clothing now.

Ewing got me hooked with Ultimates and Immortal Hulk. This is the first time in years i am excited for a new Marvel comic.

Always nice to see more of Noh-Varr.
I think an easy way to look at Thanos stories is that anything written by Jim Starlin, Ron Marz and Keith Giffen is the real Thanos while anything written by other authors should be dismissed as a Thanosi clone.

I really liked the first issue, i thought it was a great start the one thing that bothered me is... listen i like Richard, he is definitely a powerful Nova but no chance in hell is he gonna go toe to toe with Zeus... I think Ewing screwed up on the power levels there greatly, but if you can get passed that the comic was a great start.

Maybe back when he was Prime he could have done. But he lost those powers a while back.

But even at centurion level he's gone head to head with people like gladiator. So he's still very much a powerhouse. Just maybe not on Zeus' level!

Yea what i am saying is Zeus is a Skyfather... in the first issue it even says his and other Olympians powers are even more augmented but to put it simply Hera once told Hulk that Zeus could erase him with a thought and i honestly believe he could if he is around the same level of Odin, he gave one of the strongest versions of Hulk one of the worst beatings of his life and he used mostly his fists to do that without any hax or anything, the guy is just on a whole other level. And actually someone asked Al on twitter if Richard was back to his prime levels and Al seems to confirm that he is, alluding to him holding his own against Zeus for a while.

Well, if the other Nova Corps are dead, then Rich would have the Nova Force to himself (he's not even sharing it with Sam, as the black helmets have their own supply) so it makes sense he's back to Nova Prime power levels. No other Novas are known to still exist (hopefully Eve Bakian had left, as she gave birth in Duggan's run. Commander Scott Adsit was the only other recurring Nova Corps member with a name).

I’m hoping Ewing reboots the Nova Corps. A much missed entity of the Marvel cosmology.

Then people will mock them for being a Green Lantern Corps knock off.

Still better than the pathetic Keystone Cops version of the Novas from the MCU.

Rich with the full Nova Force Is supposed to be on par with Silver Surfer i think.

Nova was very outclassed by Silver Surfer when he had the Nova Force. It was somewhere in DnAs run, where he tried to rescue a planet that’s being consumed by Galactus. He was able to deliver a blow, but Norrin didn’t really seem phased by it.

I don't think so, i think he was below SS, he even was on the losing side against Gladiator IIRC, even then if he was on par with Surfer he would still be an ant against someone like Odin and by the same token someone like Zeus.

GOTG 2 - Some spoilers! Rich survives though sadly he's not in good condition to deal with Zeus - Phyla gets the credit but not in the way you think; and there's a potential developement for Nova as the cure to his situation lies with the Utopian Kree that Marvel Boy founded. Hercules gets a good showing here but the mission ends on a low note as Quill ends up caught in the black hole bomb singularity with a few more Master of the Sun flashbacks throw in for good measure. Next issue - the West Sprial Arm Guardians debut.

and I adore the fact that Ewing seems to be taking Quill back to his pre-Bendis pre-Gunn roots. Not only with the flashes of the original 1970's star lord stuff, but even the quote "Do you feel the basis of your life is wrong?"
He's even doing the thing he used to do where he leaves the helmet around his face (now we just need the top part of the helmet!)
This was a very Peter focused start to the series, and with him "dead" (though it was already teased in the issue that he'll be back), I'm sure we'll start getting some spotlights on the other characters
