Cool ideas! Liu`s Astonishing was great and would love it to be referenced.
Having the Archangel guy be the son of Charlotte Jones and Gambit Girl be Wendy from AXM would kind of redeem this book in my eyes.
I'm tired of new generations of mutant kids who'll be underutilized after six months. To have these characters actually be part of the X-books' history would be a great touch.
I also have to admit I do kind of hope they're all humans. I can see that being a cool different angle to explore.
I'm here for the interesting origin premise of these characters. So far, it's certainly different from the legacy characters trope that's usually employed by the X-Office...ie cloning and AU shenanigans.
Human characters who've "replicated" mutant powers through science is really coolz when you think about it.

that's cultural apropriation and be sure, they will be dealt with.

Well...um...o-kies...if you say so???

Well we do not like pretenders. I hope they're mutants or Chimeras and not humans.
If they are humans dressed up like mutants, it kinda defeats the point of mutants as their own thing. If regular people can do everything a mutant can by putting on a fancy suit, then what makes them special? If anything it just makes humans more impressive for kneecapping the thing that makes mutants 'superior'. Then you get into the cultural appropriation thing. That and this weird idea I keep seeing that the only 'good' humans are the ones that hardcore love the mutants, like the cultists.
This would be incredibly interesting. If these characters are indeed connected to the X-Men in some way, I'm good with them being human or mutant.
If this is the case, you and I know there will be malfunctions and issues and maybe even these people putting themselves in great danger thinking they're like the X-Men, then have to get saved by the mutants. Could make for some fun storytelling.
