I’m actually looking forward to checking it out. The thing is, we know almost nothing about it. It could end up like the original Thunderbolts and be awesome.

I doubt it will ever get published.

I fpeople thought January was a hard month with future state, March will be even harder with new creative teams on DC books
I can only hope there’s a twist.
Like the kids are secretly evil or something.
Or they’re all sibling bastards that are Azazel’s children.
Because if it’s played straight I won’t be interested. And it’s just taking more page time from the countless other established students mentioned above.
Ok but the reactions here (including my initial one) have mostly been frustration over other X-kids getting neglected. These people are literally spouting stuff like “Now the X-Men have been corrupted by SJW’s”, when the comics have always argued for a more tolerant world.
The year is 2020. SJW means something totally different than what it meant in the previous century.
"Cable was right!"
If there is a big twist, like they're spies or that they're all actually robots or something they should leak it now
Leading theory is that they are the chimeras that were hinted at. But I remember the crackpot original theory that they were rapidly aged clone hybrid kids of the OG X-men. That was hilarious.
If they're humans cosplaying as X men then it becomes a weird cultural appropriation thing. Like a team of Rachel Dolezols.
So far they look like human fans of the X-Men.

I think it might be a mix of power origins. Likely with the addition of some tech assistance, but that might be as simple as a reverse Eric the Red suit for the Cyclops sidekick (as a possible example). They seem to be playing their cards close, so we won't know for sure until the issues are finally published. Until there is on panel or in interview confirmation we are all just speculating.
Dark does not mean deep.
