That would just make it state-sponsored mutantface.

It'd be interesting, but the timing wouldn't have worked out with when they were originally set to launch and the Champions lineup and the COTA lineup don't really match in ways that make sense. Plus they'd still be teen heroes even if dressed as other people so pretending to be X-Men doesn't really make a lot of sense.

Anything other than mutants has pretty close to zero long term potential in the X-franchise that is not a totally bad thing they can go on be Marvel Heroes but if they are not mutants well history has told us in Longshot, Broo, Warbird, Deathbird, Red Lotus, Danger, Kid Gladiator,Hepzibah and Deadpool just to name few they are not going to be used again other than small cameos and spot appearances. The most successful non mutant character is currently accessory on Doug Ramsey.

Now I wont say it is completely bad thing to have humans as play stronger role in the franchise. In the more recent stories in X-men could have used the voice of humans who don't hate mutants and maybe CoTA act as an proxy for group of humans that don't hate mutants. And having that in the franchise is a good thing I think when X-factor worked for the government or when there was Avengers Unity Team these were opportunities to tell stories with and about humans not being dicks to mutants. If CoTA are humans then maybe X-men will finally have some human allies who would take their side and suffer with them during stuff.to it.

72 pages talking about something we barely know anything about is funny on its own.

One of the benefits of the delay is that it is now coming out after New Mutants #14, which allowed people to get familiar with Ayala's writing, so at least people might be more willing to give the book a chance.

It’s not like nerd fandoms to decide they either love or hate something before it’s come out with an almost religious, cult-like fervour...

Just realized there was already a thread for this book so now we have multiple.

Should we migrate here or let this one die?

Im confused. When the pandemic hit,did they just stop working on this book bc it was delayed almost a year. I thought the first few issues were done with maybe minor changes done as need be

Not sure about this book in particular, but Marvel had a "pencils down" order for a lot of its books when the pandemic hit, especially smaller books like this.
