Blade in a character action game like Devil May Cry and Bayonetta. Throw in some Marvel horror on there for variety for enemies and potential allies. Alternately, Deadpool can also work for this type of game.

Iron Man should be Anthem but actually make it a good game.

Jessica Jones game in the style of LA Noire could work. It would be a massive undertaking for a character that doesn't have a huge base.

Punisher game in the style of Hotline Miami.

You can be sneaky and use stealth, go upfront in direct combat, go in alone or command a squad of troops, and use your trusty shield alongside various weapons. The weapons themselves can be a mix of real world weapons, and HYDRA laser weapons if you can get your hands on them. Vehicles include Cap's trusty bike, as well as jeeps, cars, tanks, and HYDRA hovercrafts. As for the shield, it's the biggest component, using it to deflect projectiles no matter how strong, take out enemies from individuals to vehicles, use as a powerful melee weapon, and even as a sled to ride down steep hills. Other gadgets could include a grappling hook, smoke bombs, trackers, and mines.

The gameplay would include you capturing outposts, rescuing captives, going behind enemy lines, and fighting supervillains. The areas you can explore includes war-torn France, Italy and the Alps.
The big problem in that kind of game is "What about the holocaust?" Having a superhuman move across Europe like that only makes the lack of action with the genocide more glaring and impossible to ignore. Doing a World War II shooter allows you to skirt that somewhat and even then some recent games touched on it. So it would be hard to do.

I think Captain America should be set in contemporary times, post-thaw. And WW2 done with flashbacks. Making it into a full game with any amount of seriousness would stink.

A major inspiration for this idea comes from Metal Gear Solid V.

    What would you think?
A lot of people have brought up MGS and Captain America, mostly because of Winter Soldier, but that's not the complete Captain America.

Captain America isn't all cloak-and-dagger industry complex thrillers. Ed Brubaker's run was but not all his best stories are like that. Stuff like Englehart's SECRET INVASION, Kirby's THE MADBOMB are sprawling road stories with a big scope. Something like Days Gone, the PS4 game where you bike across America and so on, can work. Just convert the zombies into Madbomb infectees.

If you set all Cap America stories in military bases with soldiers and not with people, you miss out on defining elements of the Sentinel of Liberty.

I think they should set the game in Washington DC, with an open world map. You have Red Skull using the Madbomb to drive people crazy and Cap goes in and establishes order and peace without killing anyone while doing his best not to succumb to the Madbomb himself. Then he travels across Washington and visits famous locations (Ford's theater, the National Mall, Arlington Cemetery) and the finale of course takes place in the White House itself.

    Go all out...'Murica f--k yeah.

That could work too. In terms of setting up a sequel, how do you think that should be done?

My guess is that they'd introduce Helmut Zemo at some point in the game as the Phoenix, an underling working for the Red Skull, out to get revenge on Captain America for his father's death (the context might need to get changed though because this is the present day). After seemingly dying from falling into the Adhesive X, we get the teaser at the end where sometime later, we see Helmut in his castle, treating his wounds and his scarred face, then swearing his revenge on Captain America before putting on the purple mask, becoming Baron Zemo.

Baron Zemo would make a good follow up after a game focused on the Red Skull. They could alternatively use the Flag-Smasher and ULTIMATUM, or the Serpent Society. Any ideas?

Well if you are gonna do Zemo as a Cap villain, you have to do UNDER SIEGE. Under Siege is of course an Avengers story but it's also largely a Captain America story, and its about Zemo's hatred for Cap.

We have proven successes with Spider-Man PS4, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, and the upcoming Marvel's Avengers which they tout as a real Triple-A game (we'll have to see how that goes). I hope there's more planned. So what ideas do you guys have?

    Here's one for me:

    An open world Marvel RPG.

    General Details
    • The game is set in open world New York City, in a large map that is based on Manhattan. If possible, I'd want a Westchester section, but they could move the the X-Men to Manhattan so long as there's a good in-story reason for it.
    • Instead of playing established Marvel characters, you play your own created character (details below).
    • As a hero, you can choose your own route to greatness, such as joining various small-time teams and taking on various levels of criminals/supervillains, before making your way to the big leagues. You can join different teams depending on what routes you take, like the Avengers, the Fantastic Four as an honorary member, the X-Men, and so on. Each one gives you different missions and interactions.
    • This being an RPG and open world, you can engage fights in various ways from different angles that make full use of the powers you give your character.
    • There are missions set outside of New York City, such as trips to Wakanda, Asgard, Xandar, Latveria, Madripoor, Savage Land, and so on. While they aren't open world areas, they still are breaks from the city itself.
    • The canon characters appear at various points, often to give missions and activities.
    • As you can expect, it's not specifically tied to the comics but takes place in a distilled world like what Spider-Man PS4 did or Batman: Arkham series to its mythos.
    • The world is fully realized, making the most of the Marvel Universe. You have Avengers Tower, Xavier's School, Baxter Building, Wakanda Embassy, Alias Investigations, Sanctum Sanctorum, The Raft, Roxxon, The Daily Bugle, Nelson & Murdock, Oscorp and more.
    • There's co-op, up to four players.

    Character Details
    • Like in Mass Effect, you choose between multiple origins that determine how your character starts the game. This includes "Mutant, recently inducted in Xavier's School", "New York native, just began superhero career", or "Arrival in the city, fought crime elsewhere" as some examples.
    • You have different selectable origins, such as "Mutant", "Mutate", "Alien", "Tech", "Magic", or whatever else.
    • Powers are derived from archetypes, namely "Guardian" (tank characters), "Ranger" (projectile characters), "Fighter" (melee characters), "Support" (utility characters).
    • As you progress through the game, you unlock different branches for your abilities and new uses for them.
    • Also, you unlock more costume pieces to fit your character and update over time. You do this by finding them, completing missions, sidequests and whatever else.
    • It goes without saying that customization would be very extensive as it should be.

Just an idea I had that I thought would be cool.

Anyways, what ideas do you have for Marvel video games that you hope become a thing by chance? Discuss.
hopefully there are "rescue missions" as well as "fights" to take place. have events within the game beyond combat.

A wolverine game set across his entire lifetime would be fun, X-men origins Wolverine had a good game but mainly stuck to the film, a wolverine game that let you experience levels in Civil War, WWII, Stuff in madripor, Fight against the hulk or where wolverine was a spy could be fun. Have levels set where he is part of alpha flight, Xmen, avengers, FF, X-Force etc. Could also have RPG elements like mass effect that let you choose between hero and berserker and make decision that affect the outcome of the game or how well received wolverine is by other heroes or agencies in the game.Skill trees that either enhance combat techniques, healing, berserker rage etc. Could even have the romance elements of stuff like mass effect since wolverine has been involved with so many notable marvel characters (Storm, Jean, Domino, Mariko, silverfox heck even viper) and depending on how wolverine acts it either attracts or repulses his love interests. Could have Sabretooth, Omega Red, Cyber and silver samurai as enemies maybe have sinister or apocalypse as main villain of the game. If they ever got to a sequel something set around Old man logan would be amazing.

I would like to see more Franchise games instead of general Marvel U games where you can really delve into the particular characters or franchises mythos....
Daredevil would be my first game open world in the style of Arkham but unique to DD all his villians and supporting cast.........maybe have Elektra or Echo playable as well.
FF4 is another Franchise that is need of more love never gotten much on the game front sadly not sure what kind of game but one where all the members plus maybe a few prominent replacement members like She-Hulk and Crystal are playable.
Moon Knight kind of like DD but this has alot of potential imo
Punisher maybe an open world shooter not sure but had a ton of fun with his arcade game way back
X-Men this franchise lends itself to games better then any other marvel franchise outside of Spiderman.....could be a fighting, open world, an RPG would be really fascinating as well you have an immense number of characters to play with heroes, villians, supporting or otherwise just an embrassment of riches.....Xavier's Mansion or Krakoa could be the foundation perhaps Utopia as well so much to play with in fact I think a Final Fantasy style game with X characters if done right would slay........way better franchise for games then the avengers imo.
