Gonna be hard to trade Foles to be a backup with that contract...

Jacksonville gave him $50 million GUARANTEED.

Speaking of Jacksonville in NFL News...

    - Jacksonville is having issues under the salary cap and in a salary dump move traded A.J Bouye (CB) to the Denver Broncos for a 4th rd pick. Bouye was in the final year of his contract and was due $15.4 million. Also the team felt his play fell off in 2019.

    - The LA Chargers and Travis Benjamin (WR) decided to part after several down seasons. Benjamin was signed to a good deal in 2016 after a big season in Cleveland where he had a near 1,000 yard season. Since then he's never had reached it.

    - Long time safety Mike Adams announced his retirement after 16 seasons. While considered not an elite safety Adams was considered a very solid starter and could step in at a moments notice. In fact Adams was undrafted and played for 6 teams through 16 seasons. His last was as a backup for 6 games with the Houston Texans in 2019.

Watch ... he sips the same magic juice as Brady and Wilson so the day never comes till he's ... 55.

Another pass catch/blocking TE would help, too. A combo back or a RB and that man will have a bevy of targets and nobody will know how to stop him.

Or they could do what ended up happening in Denver for many of the Elway years - develop a moving pocket offense and have designed rollouts. Center the entire offense around Mahomes and his unique abilities to scramble.

Reid used the rollouts and moving pocket with McNabb due to his athletic skills etc. He uses more shot gun/spread formations with Mahomes since he has that air raid type experience. But I think Mahomes wants to drift into a more West coast style QB ala McNabb in ways.

    NFL News...

    - Frank Gore's agent informed the league that Gore intends to play in 2020. Gore would be in his 16th NFL season and the ageless one is working out with LeSean McCoy right now. Its said Gore remains a steady reliable veteran who can help young RB's grow as a team could bring him in.

    - Buffalo has added assistant head coach to Leslie Frazier's title with the team.

    - New England has confirmed they will be picking up the option for Jason McCourty in 2020. His brother Devin however will be fetching a decent price on FA market even at 33. The Patriots are expected to try to keep both brothers for next season and had to work on Jason McCourty's deal 1st.

    - According to a report Tom Brady and Bill Belichick had a phone conversation days before he heads into free agency. The call its being reported ranged from not productive to one report it did not go well. Right now Brady hasn't said much and said he is taking his time through the process basically. The 42 year old QB is on a vacation with family.

So in a nice video from last year , NFL looks back at perhaps the greatest draft class the last 30+ years. This 1st rd draft class had 4 Hall of Fame players drafted in the 1st 5 picks. With some great stories behind it.

    - Green Bay in 1988 was a bad team and seemed destined to get the #1 overall draft pick in 1989. Of course they beat the Cardinals which was stunning and they settled for the #2 pick. That 1st pick was earned by Dallas.

    - Who selected Troy Aikman. Now many in the Dallas organization wanted Johnson to select Tony Mandarich . Mandarich was considered the most sure thing bet and considered a MONSTER at tackle with 6'6 320 body. He lasted 3 seasons and was a bust.

    - Barry Sanders changed the rules of college entry players. Barry was wanting to leave college early due to his college facing NCAA sanctions in 1989. The NFL granted Barry an early entry as a Junior and soon after the next season rules were changed allowing juniors to declare for the NFL Draft if they wanted.

    - The video points out that Jimmy had to deal to get back into the 1990 1st rd to get Emmit Smith. And if he hadn't , he would have been forced to draft Blair Thomas (RB) possibly who was the other top RB in 1990 Draft. Instead he got Smith. But as the video jokes had he listened to people Dallas could have had Mandarich and Thomas comically.

What is wild is Gore tore his ACL in college his 1st year and people questioned his durability due to that coming out. Its why he slipped to 3rd rd of the 2005 NFL Draft and was the 6th RB chosen.

Here was a list of the 5 RB's drafted and career rushing yards.

    #1 - Ronnie Brown : 10 seasons in NFL ; 5,391 yards rushing - 1,966 yards receiving - 40 career TD's
    #1 - Cedric Benson : 8 Seasons in NFL : 6,017 yards rushing - 833 yards receiving - 33 career TD's
    #1 - Cadillac Williams : 7 seasons in NFL : 4,038 yards rushing - 1,002 yards receiving - 25 TD's
    #2 - J.J Arrington : 5 seasons in NFL : 654 yards rushing - 693 yards receiving - 2,694 Return yards - 7 career TDs
    #2- Eric Shelton : 2 seasons in NFL : 23 yards rushing

Its amazing to see that Gore has nearly accounted for the entire rushing yards added by all these guys. Just amazing to see him keep churning out more yards.

Good thing NFC East is stacked with rushers, so it's unlikely Gore will end up facing my Eagles. WHEW! For the guy to have lasted as long as he has is nothing short of astonishing, and yeah, Canton ready.

This NFL Documentary looks at the "6 QB's" who were drafted before Tom Brady back in 2000. It also examines how Tom Brady was not supposed to happen. Drew Henson in college was supposed to be The Guy.

This examines each QB that was drafted and the selection of Spergon Wynn is so insanely comical it defies belief. He was selected 16 picks before Brady and the guy had a worse college career than Brady had. In fact its pointed out he had a college completion percentage of 55.1% . Brady had a college career rating of 61.9%. Even Brady's college team mate mocked the QB's the Browns had saying how bad things were as he was on that team.

But we see Brady break down over the hurt at watching himself get passed over. We see how even years after the draft he relieves that moment breaking down.

As an update to those mentioned that were in the league in 2011 or 2012...

    - Marc Bulger : Became a backup QB due to injuries and production dropping. Decided to retire in 2011 even though numerous teams wanted him as a veteran backup.

    - Chris Redman : Became a backup QB after never developing in Baltimore. Played 5 seasons for Atlanta as a backup QB and was released by the team 2012. Was out of the league after that.

    - Chad Pennington : Sadly Pennington never could beat the injuries. After injuring his shoulder in 2010 , he was working on yet another comeback. Then he tore his ACL and decided against a 4th shoulder surgery. Retiring for good in 2012.

Since he plays for a team in New York and spends at least four to five months a year there, you'd think he'd be aware of that little factoid. If he wasn't, or worse, did know and thought he could get away with what he had done, then it's on him for being an idiot.
