And... You know, I think the New Gods are pretty interesting, but I find I don't like any of the heroes. I'm not drawn to Orion or Mr. Miracle. They both look kind of lame and I'm not blown away by their characters. I actually think that has something to do with why the franchise often has difficulty - interesting idea, but the protagonists are lacking in various ways, and there's no awesome main hero. I also think that's exactly why Superman is often used for that spot when they appear.
