kjn, for that fun alternative to pulling a rabbit out of the hat.
Honorable mentions go out to Tbaron and Kai "the Spy."

That cover makes me want to read a series about Sherlock Holmes and Houdini
Lots of interesting and wacky covers this week
Shalla Bal, for "The Great Kento"'s purple tuxedo. Straight outta Smallville.
Nschornhorst
For doing the my Little Pony version of Zatanna.
and thanks for the vote WestPhilly.
I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:
Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.

Iron Maiden
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!
The audience is deeply split on the quality of the magical acts:
Ajax_X, Javasaurus, Kai "the spy", kjn, LordMikel, nx01a, PaulBullion, Seismic-2, Shalla Bal, WestPhillyPunisher, and worstblogever each received one round of applause.
Greg Hatcher, Iron Maiden, Nschornhorst, Speed Force League Unlimited, SquirrelMan, Tami, and The Darknight Detective all received two rounds of applause each.
Can we get a tie-breaking applause between the seven entries?
«Speaking generally, it is because of the desire of the tragic poets for the marvellous that so varied and inconsistent an account of Medea has been given out» (Diodorus Siculus, The Library of History [4.56.1])
I'll make the tie-breaking applause as I didn't submit an entry. And my vote goes to…
TAMI!
Love the play of light and shadow. Congrats Tami!

OMG! Wow, thanks!
I don't think I've ever seen a 7-way tie before, just about every cover got at least one vote, there were so many great ones this week.
