    Default Ideal Job

If you could, what would be your ideal job to make a living?

I don't have an ideal job anymore. I used to want to be a famous singer. Now I dream about being a great writer of fiction, or a great actress playing all kinds of characters. It sounds a lot of fun lol. Or working in Starfleet and travel the universe like a teacher or Science officer or something very interesting. Probably not a commander because I don't know if I could take the best decisions.

It's fun to think about all this. What are your thoughts?

Probably novelist, or some other kind of creative writer ... screenplays maybe, or possibly part of a team on a tv show with great characters? Thing is though, I don't have really any desire to be famous, and have to deal with the pressures of that ... and, I don't really thrive on deadlines for creative stuff, either ... so, maybe something more like documentaries? Getting to interview interesting people/professions/cultures/lives, then craft some kind of narrative out of that ...

Maybe just be some kind of anonymous world traveller/blogger ... just get to travel and experience things, meet people, learn things, and write about it ... with no schedule or deadlines for when any post is due, and no care as to whether any post is read by ten or ten million people ... yeah, probably too good to be true, but so long as we're dreaming...

Probably a media critic. Something along the lines of a Leonard Martin who spends time studying and discussing the history of film instead of just a reviewer.

    I'm all over the place.

I wish I was so uniquely talented that people would hurl bundles of cash at me to see me perform for them in private. I've heard of musicians flying to Saudi Arabia to do 2 day performance/meet & greet, at some prince's estate for a suitcase of cash & a private plane ride in/out of the country. Must be nice to be giant douchebag like Streisand sometimes.

Other times I wish I was a talented writer & famous degenerate like Millay, Hemingway or Bukowski. Just write, drink, write, drink, fall down...drink repeat.

I dunno. Porn star writer? Rodeo clown? Whiskey critic? Tornado chaser? I would very much like to raise giant tortoises just to watch them stomp across the Golgo estate.

Ideal job would a politician. You simply do nothing, well almost nothing. You don't have to work. you just vote on passing bills into law. You get to live on taxpayers' money. Your travel expenses are covered by the taxpayers. You get to travel from your hometown routinely to the nation's capital. You get free medicare, free lodging and free vacations on taxpayer's dime.

Ideal job: Graphic novel or anime series writer and artist.
I am great at thinking of stories, just getting them down on paper is difficult. Also, I like drawing ! But being able to share my stories with the world would be ideal. Even if nobody read them.

Puppy Petter and Kitten Kuddler--but like 10-15 of each at a time! The tiny critters would be so happy, that I would get paid lots of money by the owners!

    I'm a software developer.

I can't think of anything I'd rather do - except (maybe) going completely off the left field and designing or reviewing board games, but much as I love them, I think I would overdose on them if I did that full time.
